Let’s take a #NewWaveWeds “CRACK” KRABBY CAKE+Spam-tasticness break to talk about.. CATERING!

Ya know, I dun talk about it enough (but I sure do talk about myself a lot, huh?!?!)  So “YEAH”, we “DOES” that.. ya know.. CATERING! ^_^

We do lunches, lunch BOXES, baby showers, office soiree’s, bull fights (if you happen to host one of those), dance parties, holiday parties, film shoots, weddings, HUUUUUUGE after parties (we did an E3 one last year for 500 people, that was GINORMOUS!) and did I mention… OFFICE SOIREE’S?!?!  

We’ll even do “OFF-THE-MENU” options (but we charge a premium if you ask for it) as long as we know in advance if you want it.  So like let’s say the NOM NOM PORK ain’t on the menu, but you WAIT it (like that picture above).. *poof* like magic (and a couple days of hard prep to get it done of course).. you gots yourself some NOM NOM PORK-liciousness for your bull fight which happened to turn INTO an Office Soiree.. AH-MAZING!

So there you have it, the gratuitous plug of the day goes to CATERING …and some SPICY “CRACK” KRAB CAKES throw in for good measure (hey, it’s the last week.. you MIGHT want some *winky winkies*) 

And lets not forget the SOLE reason why I HAFTA blog on Weds (*cough* other than self promotion *cough cough*)… NEW WAVE WEDNESDAY!!!  And ya know, I know I’ve posted a version of this, but it never gets old.. why not relieve your youth (if you were alive that is) and enjoy some… “NEVERENDING STOOOOOOORYYYYYYY (la la la.. la la la.. la la la LA!)”

It had to happen, and it’s happening this week: last week for SPICY “CRACK” KRAB CAKES and… Spicy Spam Fried Rice too (I know, that’s like a double punch in the gut AND THEN a double kick in the nads… if you have a pair of those like I still do this AM, but who knows what will happen by this afternoon DOH!)

YUP, I said it, these are going away after this week (FYI-we kept ‘em on for 1 more week for y’all since we know many of you’z love ‘em)

…and YUP, the Spicy Spam Fried Rice is aleavin’ too.  I’ll give you a reason why: we gots to bring in the Coconut rice which is AMAZING w/ the BRAISED COCONUT PORK BELLY and the next upcoming dish too “I guaRANtee”

…but you have to imagine me saying “I guaRANtee” like that Cajun guy from the Pringle’s RUFFLE’S commercials back in the 80’s… like this! (just in case you don’t remember OR were too young to have experienced this… and does that last comment make me old now??? FUUUUUUUUCK!)

Lastly, if you didn’t know, I’m a social media whore… WHORE!! (meaning I have an UNHEALTHY addiction to social media that I just.. can’t… KICK, and NOT that I offer sexual favors or similar via social media… at least not often ;D)  We’re celebrating #4sqday today (4/16) by returning to our illegal+underground “donation” pricing of $5 per entree (…and ummm PER check-in as well for you sneaky folks out there LOL).  

So if you’re a Foursquare fan like us (or you just want a cheap lunch, which is completely cool too), come join us TODAY for lunchie-munchies, and I think they’re throwing the official #4sqday party at Casey’s Irish Pub tonight if you wanna check-in+drink to our mutual love for social media and possibly sharing too much information with each other… woo hOO! LOL

First of all, I dun care if Lent is over.. FISH+(TARO) CHIPS FRIDAY lives on (for lunch AND Din-Dins tonight!) my friends… HUUUUUZZAAAAAAAH! (is the thought you MUST be thinkin’, right? I mean, when you dip those vodka battered crispy ass suckas in that Thai Curry Apple Chutney sauce, that shit is DEEEEELISH!)

Secondly, WATCH THIS VIDEO! You’ve prolly seen it or read about it if you’re like me (a social media WHORE!!!), but it’s BRILLIANT.  I wanna do something like this… SK-style! (and w/ much less production value, and probably intentionally half-assed for full comedic effect too ^_^)

“Sometimes COOKS just wanna have f-UN!” (on #NewWaveWeds !!)

First, if I didn’t mention before, we felt like being kind and we’ve extended the SPICY “CRACK” KRAB CAKES one more week (“KRAAAAAAABBY CAAAAAAKES!!”).. woo HOO!

Secondly, I honestly don’t post pictures of my staff that much (maybe cause I’m a not-so-closet-narcissist LOL… sorry for so many pictures of me).  Up above are two of our line cooks (and not the Krab Cake banh mi pic silly, the pic with the two “people!” ^_^): Evan and Julie.  Sometimes people ask me, “WOW, you have a lot of white faces in your kitchen?!?!”  Other times people ask me, “Why do you wear that banana suit again?!?!”  And my answer is the same, “because I can!” (and under my breath “because I’m lucky!)  

I’ll be the first to say we really do love our staff, and are lucky to have the ones we have now.  They’re like our children (and even call us “Mom” and “Dad” now which is sometimes WEIRD!)  So this song’s for you “kids” (and substitute “Girls” and “Cooks” or “Employees” or some other creative name you want to fill in.. “foot soldiers” maybe?!?!)

Ok kids, let’s get back to reality (it was fun being in the @LATimes this wkend though, I won’t lie to ya LOL). I don’t think I gave a very good send off to the LEMONGRASS TOFU (which is pretty frickin’ tasty btw,) so we’re gonna give it two more days before we move on to the next one. M’kay?! M’KAY! :)

With that said, it’s been nearly 11 frickin’ months since we served the SPICY “CRACK” KRAB CAKES.. 11 MONTHS! It’s a big fave for a lot of you so here’s what we’re gonna do. This week SHOULDA been the last week, but with all this keeping the LEMONGRASS TOFU, startin’ it’s replacement (which is gonna be the JALAPENO GREEN CURRY TOFU btw ;D) in the middle of the week and all sorts of other madness: let’s keep the SPICY “CRACK” KRAB CAKES til the end of next week ‘cause we love y’all so much. WOO HOO!!

So that’s good news for most of y’all, right?!?! (I’d like to think so.. and if it ain’t… DOOOOOOOH!)

(feigning excitement) Happy TAX DAY!! (now karate chopping “hi YA” REAL excitement) Might as well stuff yer face w/ some SPICY “CRACK” KRABBY CAKES, Spicy Spam Fried Rice and/or the CRISPY TOFU BALLS (since they are now being served… FOREVEEEEEEER and all!)

Hey, it’s a shitty day for lotsa ya, so why not make yerself a lil happy (especially if you’re in OUR ‘hood RIGHT across from the post office, come on in y’all!)  And if you feel inclined or have just returned back from Coachella, why not relive that “free spiritedness” and dance around California Plaza in an inner tube like this chick below.  We’ll all be better for having you do that (at least I will because that’s AWESOME! LOL)

Enough of these veggie shenanigans: JALAPENO GREEN CURRY TOFU isofficially on for lunch+Din-Dins (it’s ON tonight y’all!)

FYI- we pureed the jalapeno AND mixed it into the green curry so it all looks the same (but is a TAD bit spicier, so “CAUTION” to all those spicy wussies out there ^_^)

So what can I tell you about this dish outside of what the name already describes?? It has so MUCH mouth-lovin’ flava and that’s all you need to know… and oh yeah, it’s tofu too. ;)

Now, if that ain’t your thing (YET), you can always take these visual pieces of advice on some alternatives (for lunch and/or Din-Dins since we got THAT going on tonight too ^_^):

(and if it doesn’t… FUUUUUUUUUCK) Well, if that REALLY doesn’t help, let’s take a trip back down memory lane and re-visit the Sexy Sax Man (“he’s my HEEEERO!”) who makes EVERYTHING go down much smoother (man, if I could play Careless Whisper [my favorite guilty pleasure of ALL TIME] on the sax, I’d be doin’ that EVERY day at SK… no JOKE! haha)

Ya know what, I completely forgot the SK “age-old” battle wages on (and has for the last couple of weeks): Pork vs Tofu!!!

Since we have the LEMONGRASS TOFU on for another day or two, why not instigate a battle between two proteins that say very little.. but pack a MEAN punch… of FLAVOR! haha

Now I will admit that the pork pictured here is NOT the pork that’s on the menu (aka BRAISED COCONUT PORK BELLY), but it doesn’t matter when you got an age-old battle going on. Pork is PORK! Tofu is TOFU!
