First, if I didn’t mention before, we felt like being kind and we’ve extended the SPICY “CRACK” KRAB CAKES one more week (“KRAAAAAAABBY CAAAAAAKES!!”).. woo HOO!
Secondly, I honestly don’t post pictures of my staff that much (maybe cause I’m a not-so-closet-narcissist LOL… sorry for so many pictures of me). Up above are two of our line cooks (and not the Krab Cake banh mi pic silly, the pic with the two “people!” ^_^): Evan and Julie. Sometimes people ask me, “WOW, you have a lot of white faces in your kitchen?!?!” Other times people ask me, “Why do you wear that banana suit again?!?!” And my answer is the same, “because I can!” (and under my breath “because I’m lucky!)
I’ll be the first to say we really do love our staff, and are lucky to have the ones we have now. They’re like our children (and even call us “Mom” and “Dad” now which is sometimes WEIRD!) So this song’s for you “kids” (and substitute “Girls” and “Cooks” or “Employees” or some other creative name you want to fill in.. “foot soldiers” maybe?!?!)

Happy April Fools Day (aka the 1 year anniversary of our FIRST Weed Dinner.. YAY! ^_^). We have decided from this day forward the “Banana Suit” will become the standard issue uniform for all SK employees. But don’t fret, ‘Casual Fridays’ will be Lederhosen (or Dirndl’s for the ladies) FRIDAYS with every employee receiving a standard issue creepy blue pigman for each his/her own to cherish and share with the world:

Alright, we lied AGAIN (but we do it for YOU, we promise.. and also for us sometimes ;D) the NEBRASKA ANGUS JAPANESE MEATBALL CURRY is on for one.. More.. WEEK! (but this is most def the last week y’all!)

Inevitably the banana suit will return (people REALLY love it when I wear that thaaaaang LOL), but we definitely got a new theme this year. It’ll be fun more than anything (and I’m growing a pervy mustache just for it ^_^).

Hello Angelenos & Veterans, Team SK decided not to “monkey around” (in banana suits) today and we are OPEN for lunch+Din-Dins today. HOORAY!
So if you would like to “monkey around” with us (and/or wear a banana suit today… if you do, trust me, I’ll hook you up GOOD!), come on by… we VALIDATE!! (and the food’s not too shabby and we’re kinda nice sometimes too ;D)
And a really good reason to go to Din-Dins.. last night for the SALTED PLUM CHICKEN WINGS CONFIT!!!! (they’re super duper FUCKIN’ GOOD!)
So wake up, listen to The Cure, and make a trip down “Fascination Street” to SK today!
(btw, I still contend to this day that “Fascination Street” has gotta refer to a BJ.. and.. umm.. if you aren’t familiar with that two-letter term I OBVIOUSLY mean “Black Jordaches” like the jeans from the 80’s… that was convincing, right??)
