If you haven’t come in recently (but you somehow read this blog?!?!?), I have had a recent epiphany with the CHINESE HOISIN HAMBURGER! No, it’s not the second coming of some strange deity sent to save us through it’s deliciousness (but would be a great story, right?!?!), and will never be as cool as GLEE’s “Grilled Cheesus”, but…

It’s REALLY good over rice when you MASH IT UP… and GOOD like a Japanese Soboro Bowl. It makes a HUGE difference and gets you all that flavor you can mix up in that there rice… Yuuuuuuummeeeeers! (I’m just saying)
And yeah, if you didn’t know already… we doin’ the GOLD STANDARD this weekend too. Check the previous post for more GOLD STANDARD tomfoolery!
On that note, I’d love to leave you with a piece internet hilarity that I recently re-discovered through my friend Craig Thornton/Thompson/Wolvesmouth the other night… and all I have to say is:

Unfortunately, not much time to blogsies today. Being a restaurateur is CRAZY busy sometimes (and I cannot WAIT to tell all 6-7 of you of the ups+downs of this biz ESPECIALLY where I completely f’ed up too.. hopefully sooner rather than later. It ain’t all pretty, lemme tell ya!)

Btw, we had to do something that might seem kinda D-Baggy and possibly breaking our “No D-Bags” rule, but we have to charge a $1 premium for every order for the SPICY KOREAN BLACK PORK BELLY. :(
Sorry about that guys, when they say “food costs are going up”… they ain’t kiddin’ y’all! My costs have almost DOUBLED versus when we first started serving this.  We hope you don’t mind (because it’s REALLY tasty especially in a banh mi sandwich ^_^)

And in other bad news (even though I wouldn’t consider a $1 premium THAT bad of news… maybe) it’s the LAST week of the CHINESE HOISIN HAMBURGER chockos. If you want some of that tasty and saucy-liciousness, time to get “eat on” now.

And the LAST piece of bad news (yeah, there’s actually more… well, not for everyone): LAST week for the Korean Glass Noodles (aka japchae). The classic Korean (and also SK) side is making it’s exit. You want some of dis (and/or the CHINESE HOISIN HAMBURGER).. come a gits it!
Ya know what can make ALL this bad news better… why a little Elton John Crocodile Rock sing-along (of course!!!)

If ya didn’t figure it out… the Kitchen Ninja (aka @StarryKN) kinda likey her some tofu!! (aka the SWEET+SPICY GINGER FRIED TOFU is back and pretty F’ING delish… if you don’t mind me saying)

SO if you just missed (i.e. “SKIPPED”) my “aka” comment above, YUP, the SWEET+SPICY GINGER FRIED TOFU (veggie-friendly btw) is back… and it’s pretty awesome! Outside of the CRISPY TOFU BALLS, this is the ONLY other tofu we fry (all others are marinated+sauteed in flavortastic ways like last weeks LEMONGRASS TOFU) PLUS We use soft tofu INSTEAD of firm tofu to fry ‘cause.. well, firm tofu kinda gets a “yucky” (which is a real word to describe textures by the way) rubbery texture sometimes, and soft tofu is “Barry White” silky smooth and combined with that crunch- it’s “oh so delightful!” ;)
And that sh-t (aka “flavors!”) the Kitchen Ninja tosses it in is pretty darn DELICIOUS y’all. It’s SO good (in my very humble and subtle opinion of course ^_^), that the sauce was originally designed for meat (True story!) and she was like,

“Ach… why does meat have to get the good stuff all the time. This time.. VEGGIES get ‘em the GOOOOOOOD stuff!” And then she broke out in dance-and-song to Bobby Brown’s “Mr Prerogative” to make sure that people and meat knows what’s up and who’s the boss!




(I kinda remember her reacting JUST like that… maybe.. possibly… okay not really but it could be a better dramatization than the reality :D)

Would you like some SPICY KOREAN BLACK PORK BELLY?!?! (I’m not actually sure what your answer would be.. but mine is “HELL YEAH!!!” LOL)

Btw, we had to do something that might seem kinda D-Baggy and possibly breaking our “No D-Bags” rule, but we have to charge a $1 premium for every order for the SPICY KOREAN BLACK PORK BELLY. :(
Sorry about that guys, when they say “food costs are going up”… they ain’t kiddin’ y’all! My costs have almost DOUBLED versus when we first started serving this.  We hope you don’t mind (because it’s REALLY tasty especially in a banh mi sandwich ^_^)

And in other bad news (even though I wouldn’t consider a $1 premium THAT bad of news… maybe) it’s the LAST week of the CHINESE HOISIN HAMBURGER chockos. If you want some of that tasty and saucy-liciousness, time to get “eat on” now.

If you haven’t come in recently (but you somehow read this blog?!?!?), I have had a recent epiphany with the CHINESE HOISIN HAMBURGER! No, it’s not the second coming of some strange deity sent to save us through it’s deliciousness (but would be a great story, right?!?!), and will never be as cool as GLEE’s “Grilled Cheesus”, but…

It’s REALLY good over rice when you MASH IT UP… and GOOD like a Japanese Soboro Bowl. It makes a HUGE difference and gets you all that flavor you can mix up in that there rice… Yuuuuuuummeeeeers! (I’m just saying)
And yeah, if you didn’t know already… we doin’ the GOLD STANDARD this weekend too. Check the previous post for more GOLD STANDARD tomfoolery!
On that note, I’d love to leave you with a piece internet hilarity that I recently re-discovered through my friend Craig Thornton/Thompson/Wolvesmouth the other night… and all I have to say is:

If ya didn’t figure it out… the Kitchen Ninja (aka @StarryKN) kinda likey her some tofu!! (aka the SWEET+SPICY GINGER FRIED TOFU is back and pretty F’ING delish… if you don’t mind me saying)

SO if you just missed (i.e. “SKIPPED”) my “aka” comment above, YUP, the SWEET+SPICY GINGER FRIED TOFU (veggie-friendly btw) is back… and it’s pretty awesome! Outside of the CRISPY TOFU BALLS, this is the ONLY other tofu we fry (all others are marinated+sauteed in flavortastic ways like last weeks LEMONGRASS TOFU) PLUS We use soft tofu INSTEAD of firm tofu to fry ‘cause.. well, firm tofu kinda gets a “yucky” (which is a real word to describe textures by the way) rubbery texture sometimes, and soft tofu is “Barry White” silky smooth and combined with that crunch- it’s “oh so delightful!” ;)
And that sh-t (aka “flavors!”) the Kitchen Ninja tosses it in is pretty darn DELICIOUS y’all. It’s SO good (in my very humble and subtle opinion of course ^_^), that the sauce was originally designed for meat (True story!) and she was like,

“Ach… why does meat have to get the good stuff all the time. This time.. VEGGIES get ‘em the GOOOOOOOD stuff!” And then she broke out in dance-and-song to Bobby Brown’s “Mr Prerogative” to make sure that people and meat knows what’s up and who’s the boss!
