In other news- HOLY CRAP the TAIWANESE 3 CUP TOFU is already gaining momentum. We ran out at 2pm yesterday. WHOA. So come try+get you some, and if it’s out and you actually eat meat… this week’s “Bye-bye” dish- BRAISED COCONUT PORK BELLY ain’t a bad alternative! ;)

Not as “ballsy” as our buddies at Team @RedMedcineLA ‘s recent bad ass-ery (whether you/we all agree w/ it or not ^_^), but I can’t think of a better way to kick off the holiday break (L’haim to that my brothas & sistahs!) than a beautifully photoshopped wedding picture of us and our… BAAAAAALLS!!! haha

(I mean, we gots to bring it back to us chockos.. and why argue about critics and other “industry” mumbo-jumbo all day long when you can laugh at us all day long too! ^_^)

Our friend/fan Danny P had some spare time, enjoyed our wedding pics and enjoyed our balls (the crispy tofu kind of course)… so this was a naturally logical progression if you think about it (if you’re very creative and/or high “as a kite!” maybe LOL) And as much as some of you’z wouldn’t believe it, this was ALL Danny’s idea. So “Bravo… BRAVO” Danny. You, as always, are the best-est (also because he walks our dog GQ for us from time to time… what a guy!! ^_^)

Back to other delicious business- like how you should enjoy and savor the MALAYSIAN COCONUT PINEAPPLE CHICKEN on a bed of Shallot Fried Rice ‘cause it’s REALLY F’ING GOOOOOOD that way! (conveniently pictured below ;D)

SOOOOOO today is our LAST meal(s) day of the week (11-3/Lunchie-Munchies & 6-9.30p/Din-Dins), with also the RETURN of the belovedly (<- that’s a legitimate version of the word stupid spell checker, I promise!) JUUUUICY:

SK KARA-GE (aka Japanese Popcorn Chicken) for Din-Dins ONLY… TONIGHT! (come and get it… pretty pretty PLEASE?!?!)

BUT just in case you were wondering about next week, we did change our mind about next week:

we will be OPEN Monday/12.27 (& possibly Tuesday/12.28) for Lunchie-Munchies too!

Kinda wanna see if people will come out and play (and while you’re “playing” maybe you want to EAT at SK too! LOL) That and next week is going to be the beginning of a test, and not just ANY test:

BUT the test of our staff.. WITHOUT myself and/or the Kitchen Ninja!!

(these jokers below don’t work for us anymore, but as you can see as we misconstrue this pic.. it could be a lot more foolin’ around while we’re gone… which means it won’t actually be too different than normal LOL ;p)

2011 is gonna be about kicking it into… OVEEEEERDRIVE (or at least one more gear above the gear were at right now OR kicking it down one gear and “revving up the RPMS” super-high depending on how geeky+technical+NERDY [like me] you are about these analogies… ^_^) because next year is about not only having MORE fun for us, but we will attempt the seemingly impossible.. EXPANSION (Finally!)

Ya know, up until now, I was NEVER quite sure what that line was until I looked it up for this NEW WAVE WEDNESDAY post.. so there you go.

“CRACK” KRAB CAKE SHORTAGE???

Okay, so that last couple of days you guys have RAVAGED our supplies of the SPICY “CRACK” KRAB CAKE, but that should happen… no MORE (I hope!) We’ve stocked up for the rest of the week, so I DARE you to test us (only if you wants to eat it of course!) Here’s my picture of ultimate “Crack” Krab assuredness (btw, who uses that word except in presidential and gubernatorial speeches, right? “assuredness!” LOL):

UPDATE: “OOOOPSIE!” In all this Monday madness, I forgot to mention it’s the LAST week for the SWEETLY SOUR PORK (aka “Panda Pork”). Btw, it’s SUPA DUPA delicious over the Spicy Spam Fried Rice!!

First of all, it’s the happy return to the BULGOGI BURGER on this (seemingly) beautiful #MOTOWNMONDAY .. WOO HOO!!

Oh yes, the BULGOGI BURGER returns in all of it’s minced kimchi glory (well, that’s glorious for some.. not so much for others). The KITCHEN NINJA is mixing it up again and adding a Gochujang Lime Aioli this time around too… WOOOOOOO WEEEE that should f’ing delicious (if I don’t say/blog so myself LOL)

Get that with some Spicy Spam Fried Rice (if ya didn’t know.. YUP, we gots some) and I reckon you’d be a happy camper and/or office/cubicle employee of the day (and Chuck Norris would be proud of ya too!)

In other news, LQ@SK is still goin’ strong y’all (get yer ressie HERE foo’s) along w/ *GLORIOUS trumpet sounds as if King Arthur had returned from the dead* …. THE CHEESE CART! And holy CRAP it’s a lot of cheese (38 picture here all from France.. and they’re GOOD too). Even if you aren’t in for a full meal, you can come in for JUST the cheese cart (and I think I forgot to mention TRUFFLE HONEY along w/ a lot of other accompaniments as well)

Last bit of news: if you’re work near or around the LACMA, we’re going to be on the 5900 Wilshire block in the Cart for a Cause TRUCK (yup, another SK TRUCK experience!!) from 12-2p tomorrow/Tues. Come on out, support a great charity, say “Hi” and get yerself a BOUDIN NOIR Banh Mi while you’re at it too (it’s SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD!)

Okay, thats the longest post I’ve been able to get to in a long time (oh how I miss you my faithful blog), but not it’s time to gets to work. Now that we have both New Wave Weds and Chuck Norris outta the way (is there really anything else to talk about???), just a few more days left for the CHINESE HOISIN HAMBURGER!! Last piece of news: tomorrow (Thurs night) is the ONLY Din-Dins we’re serving up this week. (i.e. I think we’re gonna get DRUNK on Friday since it’s July 4th, and you don’t want us serving you drunk do you??? LOL) So if you want some SK-crack-tasticness (ok, those aren’t necessarily anyone elses words but mine), come get some. Especially the PANDAN DONUT HOLES

and/or the last night we’ll be serving the NOM NOM PORK before we REALLY rotate that sucka out.

When time is tight, there’s always time for… BULLET POINT BLOGGING TIME- which is never as clever and/or possibly interesting, but at LEAST it gets the “point” across.. I know, I know… it seems to be “BAAAAD JOKE TIME” too

• Din-Dins is back on… TONIGHT!
• And tonight also “marks the return” (<-must be said in a bad british accent) of the AMAZIIINGLY STUPEEENDOUS MALAYSIAN COCONUT  PINEAPPLE CHICKEN (conveniently pictured above for your tantalizing pleasure.. and to help convince you to come to Din-Dins with us ^_^)
• the DineLA menu price AND menu WILL be available for dinner too (just in case you were CURIOUS!)
• WOW, more people want the DURIAN FLAN CHEESECAKE than I would imagine… INSANE
• PANDAN CHICKEN is kicking ass… and taking names (while tasting delicious at the same time.. which is an AMAZING feat. Such a multi-tasker this one!)
• Despite what the Monty Python folks said.. your father does not SMELL of elderberries (but I unfortunately can’t confirm if your mother was in FACT a hamster!?!?)
• At SK, Parking validation is not a choice… but a way of life (marinate on THAT for a while. it is quite profound, I know!)
• Last and most important point of the day (tongue roll) “rrrrrRRRRRrrrrr”: eat ANYTHING at SK, get a FREE MARGARITA from our friend’s & neighbor at Casa when you present our receipt. How cool is THAT?!?!

And just in case you ACTUALLY read those bullet points, but have NO idea about Monty Python and/or the FACT that your father doesn’t smell of elderberries… “go in peace my son” (by watching this video of course):
