*waaaah* @LAFoodFest is OVER (that’s us in our Star Wars outfits below if you didn’t see it). Don’t worry, I’ll post more pics and the MANY ideas we had for the new “May the Balls be with You” sign as well soon. (they’re NERDY and FUNNY… well, if you’re a NEEEEERD that is LOL)

Until then, the rotation-foolery of SK’s world continues… or does it??? (the answer to that crap-tacular question as a riddle is below if all 3-6 of you are curious ^_^)

LAST WEEK for: SPICY KOREAN BLACK PORK BELLY! Time’s awastin’, so if you haven’t had it and like pork belly just know this, “This SHIT’S GOOOOOOOD SON!” Yup, that summarizes it (especially in a banh mi sammie y’all!)

NEW: the CRISPY KIMCHI RICE CAKE (aka “Game Changer #1” aka “the Gateway Kimchi”) is back on! I’ve been told it’s kinda like Arancini (click the link if you wants know THAT is… which is delicious too)

… and LASTLY, the answer to the “curious” riddle above. Team SK’s have been “d-bags” (aka DOUCHE bags) long enough. We’ve never consider your input, we’ve acted like we haven’t cared and we’ve just chosen dishes on our own whim… well NO MORE! Read below, and come in this week until end of lunch Thursday to make your voice heard (and look for these goofballs to help educate ya on how to).

Oh MY… WHAT a @Dine_LA two weeks has it been (last day today foo’s!).

Well, it’s almost the weekend, and what better way to “bring in the weekend” then with… LAMBADA: THE FORBIDDEN DANCE!!! <-watch it NOW!

(and after that you can come to SK for some grub if this CRAAAAZY dancing has got you hot and HUNGRY! LOL)

Otherwise, time is awastin’ (I know, what’s new.. plus there haven’t been many more “forbidden dances” offered up since the Lambada either… sheesh!) so bullet point summary style it IS:

• last lunchie-munchies day for CRISPY KIMCHI RICE CAKES

• last day for all the DineLA shenanigans (lunch and/or din-dins y’all!) incl the PANDAN CHICKEN, DURIAN FLAN CHEESECAKE, YOUNG BANANA & TAPIOCA in CARAMEL COCO MILK
• last NIGHT for the MALAYSIAN COCONUT PINEAPPLE CHICKEN
• last day to enjoy our BALLS in your…. ummmm, actually that’s not correct. That was a while ago. Oops, sorry, my bad… my mistake (and I’m just havin’ a LIL bit a fun wit the 3 or 4 of ya reading this ^_^)

DineLA, PANDAN CHICKEN and/or possibly even more important.. SPAM FRIED RIIIIICE!

While the rotation IS important, DineLA Restaurant Week starts (for us) TODAY and that is the exception to the rule (i.e. we’re gonna be keeping the same menu for the next two weeks.. BUT the CRISPY KIMCHI RICE is the next one to go… when it DOES go ^_^)

Btw, we got new drinksies (Honest Ade/Teas & the Collectors Coke Aluminum Bottles) too, but more on that later!

With that said, enough mumbo-jumbo! Here’s a (for the most part) pictoral representation of what kind of tastiness we have to offer for DineLA (that you should partake in ^_^):

OOOops, I still don’t have any pictures of this dish (yet), so I guess you’ll just have to live with my tantalizing description! ^_^

This was our TEST KITCHEN dessert: very traditionally Asian, the name is almost verbatim of what you should expect. Delicious (also carmelized) young banana cooked and served in a rich & creamy mixture of caramel and mouth-watering coconut milk. uh huh huuuuh (I mean, if you like this kinda thing ^_^)

• DURIAN FLAN CHEESECAKE (aka “Stinkylicious”) <-DineLA Menu ONLY

Hello, and GOODBYE NEBRASKA ANGUS JAPANESE MEATBALL CURRY! (btw, I have a TON of people that will read out the full name of that when they order, and OF COURSE I give ‘em a hi-5!)

Sad, we know… this is a consistent solid fave with a ton of you’z, and it is comfortingly delish… but hey, at least Game Changer #1 (aka the CRISPY KIMCHI RICE CAKE is BACK ^_^)

In other news, today’s the LAST day for “Game Changer #2” (aka the CRISPY KIMCHI RICE CAKES)

AND (yeah, there’s always more.. I know “blah.. blah.. BLAH!” LOL), tonight’s the last night for not only the MALAYSIAN COCONUT PINEAPPLE CHICKEN (unless you go to Plate by Plate tomorrow, we’re serving that up tomorrah night!), it’s also the last night we’re doing Chef LQ’s dessert from LQ@SK this week- KAFFIR PANDAN PANNA COTTA w/ Cherry Apricot Sorbet!!!

Otherwise, I’m sure you’re thinking.. “SK, I need to end this week on a intellectual and thought provoking note.. have you seen any hliarious nuts kicking YouTube videos recently??”

Ya wanna know (if you’re really bored) what ELSE is “possibly” back on tonight. DineLA fan fave (and still SK’s most LABORIOUS dish): PANDAN CHICKEN!! (or you could also skip all this jibba-jabba and look at the picture I post and have RE-POSTED below too… ‘cause that’s a whole lot easier than reading all this mumbo-jumbo ^_^)

And to answer any people DYING to know (because I have actually had people DYING to inquire and CALL in about this): unfortunately NO DURIAN FLAN CHEESECAKE tonight.

Why you ask? ‘Cause I ended up eating “all-I-can-stuff-my-frickin’-face-with” Korean BBQ for almost 3 hours last night!! I know, not the answer you were looking for if you’re actually still reading this (you ARE bored)… but entirely the truth. I’m a “fatty mcfatty” and I was too comatose to make this piece of stinky deliciousness. (but maybe for Friday night, we’ll see!)

Happy DineLA Week 2 y’all!

(and WOW was it busy last week.. NICE!)

Let’s gets some of the more burning questions outta the way… BULLET POINT STYLE!

• that picture above indeed has almost no relevance EXCEPT it was from an AWESOME Korean 1st Birthday Party (a ‘Tol’) Celebration we catered on Saturday… and I just thought this Cantaloupe Mickey Mouse was frickin’ AWESOME (thanks Michelle, Ed & Madeline!!!)

• we locked the rotation last week because of DineLA, but THIS WEEK is really is the LAST WEEK for the CRISPY KIMCHI RICE CAKE (along w/ the last week for DineLA too)

• today could be the LAST DAY for the DineLA specific DURIAN FLAN CHEESECAKE!!! I might have exhausted a key ingredient (Durian Jam) from the San Gabriel Valley, and assuming I don’t have time to re-develop this surprisingly popular dessert (I unfortunately don’t) I may have switch to a PANDAN CHEESECAKE after today. So if you wants it, and you’re in the ‘hood… come on by!
• …and the PANDAN CHICKEN is indeed kicking ass, and taking names (just in case you were wondering)

Yeah… that’s mostly bad news, huh?! Doh! Well, we’re still servin’ all this stuff this so it’s not ALL bad… yet. Well, when I’m down thinking about what’s about to go away, you what I do? I imagine that “I’m on a BOOOOOAT!!”

No matter how big or small the print… @LosAngelesMag (-azine ..just in case you ain’t the twitter readin’ kind) listed us in the Best New Restaurants issue this month , and I would assume listed us as (Best New) “Downtown Lunch” from this picture above… but just the text, not the pic. That’s FORAGE which we still haven’t gone to (but I’ve heard nothing but AWESOME things), which is still.. SWEEEEET that someone even thought of us for that!!!

I can’t believe anyone still remembers us after almost a year of legitimate operation! LOL

We’re doing DineLA RESTAURANT WEEK (Jan 23rd - Feb 4th)… AGAIN! woo HOO

Our menu isn’t quite up on their website yet… but here’s the short version just in case you’re curious (and basically it’s Pre-Fixe and you pick one from each category, m’kay? m’kay!):

Appetizer:

• Pandan Chicken (Pictured ABOVE-one of our 9 courses from TEST KITCHEN, and probably the most universally loved)
• Crispy Kimchi Rice Cakes
• The normally Din-Dins ONLY: SK Mac + Cheese (+Bacon)

Entrees:

• Spicy Korean Black Pork Belly (btw, this is Restaurant Week ONLY - this will NOT be in the rotation that week.. I mean, I’m just sayin’ just in case you want some of dis!)
• Braised VN Beef (from “Bo Kho”/Beef Stew)
• Lemongrass Tofu (I think Restaurant Week ONLY too… I THINK!)

Desserts:

• Pandan Flan
