Oh MY… WHAT a @Dine_LA two weeks has it been (last day today foo’s!).

Well, it’s almost the weekend, and what better way to “bring in the weekend” then with… LAMBADA: THE FORBIDDEN DANCE!!! <-watch it NOW!

(and after that you can come to SK for some grub if this CRAAAAZY dancing has got you hot and HUNGRY! LOL)

Otherwise, time is awastin’ (I know, what’s new.. plus there haven’t been many more “forbidden dances” offered up since the Lambada either… sheesh!) so bullet point summary style it IS:

  • last lunchie-munchies day for CRISPY KIMCHI RICE CAKES

This was our TEST KITCHEN dessert: very traditionally Asian, the name is almost verbatim of what you should expect. Delicious (also carmelized) young banana cooked and served in a rich &amp; creamy mixture of caramel and mouth-watering coconut milk. uh huh huuuuh (I mean, if you like this kinda thing ^_^)

DURIAN FLAN CHEESECAKE (aka &#8220;Stinkylicious&#8221;) &lt;-DineLA Menu ONLY
(Look how it smiles at ya LOL)

today could be the LAST DAY for the DineLA specific DURIAN FLAN CHEESECAKE!!! I might have exhausted a key ingredient (Durian Jam) from the San Gabriel Valley, and assuming I don&#8217;t have time to re-develop this surprisingly popular dessert (I unfortunately don&#8217;t) I may have switch to a PANDAN CHEESECAKE after today. So if you wants it, and you&#8217;re in the &#8216;hood&#8230; come on by!

    No matter how big or small the print&#8230; @LosAngelesMag (-azine ..just in case you ain&#8217;t the twitter readin&#8217; kind) listed us in the Best New Restaurants issue this month , and I would assume listed us as (Best New) &#8220;Downtown Lunch&#8221; from this picture above&#8230; but just the text, not the pic. That&#8217;s FORAGE which we still haven&#8217;t gone to (but I&#8217;ve heard nothing but AWESOME things), which is still.. SWEEEEET that someone even thought of us for that!!!
I can&#8217;t believe anyone still remembers us after almost a year of legitimate operation! LOL

Spicy Korean Black Pork Belly (btw, this is Restaurant Week ONLY - this will NOT be in the rotation that week.. I mean, I&#8217;m just sayin&#8217; just in case you want some of dis!)
Braised VN Beef (from “Bo Kho”/Beef Stew)
Lemongrass Tofu (I think Restaurant Week ONLY too&#8230; I THINK!)
Desserts:
Pandan Flan
Young Banana &amp; Tapioca in warm Caramel Coconut Milk

    No matter how big or small the print… @LosAngelesMag (-azine ..just in case you ain’t the twitter readin’ kind) listed us in the Best New Restaurants issue this month , and I would assume listed us as (Best New) “Downtown Lunch” from this picture above… but just the text, not the pic. That’s FORAGE which we still haven’t gone to (but I’ve heard nothing but AWESOME things), which is still.. SWEEEEET that someone even thought of us for that!!!

    So I already wrote a post about this really fun event we had fun at (i.e. “wreaked havoc” ;p), so why write more when I can just easily plagerise.. myself! (aka “just being lazy so you can click the link above for the sake of efficiency to read more about PbP.. I promise!”)

    In other news, today’s the LAST day for “Game Changer #2” (aka the CRISPY KIMCHI RICE CAKES)

    AND (yeah, there’s always more.. I know “blah.. blah.. BLAH!” LOL), tonight’s the last night for not only the MALAYSIAN COCONUT PINEAPPLE CHICKEN (unless you go to Plate by Plate tomorrow, we’re serving that up tomorrah night!), it’s also the last night we’re doing Chef LQ’s dessert from LQ@SK this week- KAFFIR PANDAN PANNA COTTA w/ Cherry Apricot Sorbet!!!

    Otherwise, I’m sure you’re thinking.. “SK, I need to end this week on a intellectual and thought provoking note.. have you seen any hliarious nuts kicking YouTube videos recently??”

that picture above indeed has almost no relevance EXCEPT it was from an AWESOME Korean 1st Birthday Party (a &#8216;Tol&#8217;) Celebration we catered on Saturday&#8230; and I just thought this Cantaloupe Mickey Mouse was frickin&#8217; AWESOME (thanks Michelle, Ed &amp; Madeline!!!)

we locked the rotation last week because of DineLA, but THIS WEEK is really is the LAST WEEK for the CRISPY KIMCHI RICE CAKE (along w/ the last week for DineLA too)
today could be the LAST DAY for the DineLA specific DURIAN FLAN CHEESECAKE!!! I might have exhausted a key ingredient (Durian Jam) from the San Gabriel Valley, and assuming I don&#8217;t have time to re-develop this surprisingly popular dessert (I unfortunately don&#8217;t) I may have switch to a PANDAN CHEESECAKE after today. So if you wants it, and you&#8217;re in the &#8216;hood&#8230; come on by!
&#8230;and the PANDAN CHICKEN is indeed kicking ass, and taking names (just in case you were wondering)

While the rotation IS important, DineLA Restaurant Week starts (for us) TODAY and that is the exception to the rule (i.e. we&#8217;re gonna be keeping the same menu for the next two weeks.. BUT the CRISPY KIMCHI RICE is the next one to go&#8230; when it DOES go ^_^)

Btw, we got new drinksies (Honest Ade/Teas &amp; the Collectors Coke Aluminum Bottles) too, but more on that later!

This was our TEST KITCHEN dessert: very traditionally Asian, the name is almost verbatim of what you should expect. Delicious (also carmelized) young banana cooked and served in a rich &amp; creamy mixture of caramel and mouth-watering coconut milk. uh huh huuuuh (I mean, if you like this kinda thing ^_^)

DURIAN FLAN CHEESECAKE (aka &#8220;Stinkylicious&#8221;) &lt;-DineLA Menu ONLY

Sad, we know&#8230; this is a consistent solid fave with a ton of you&#8217;z, and it is comfortingly delish&#8230; but hey, at least Game Changer #1 (aka the CRISPY KIMCHI RICE CAKE is BACK ^_^)
