Quick “timeout” from promoting all sorts of @dine_LA -liciousness (but it IS the last week for it ALL y’all!) to ask this question:
What if SK made a Superbowl Snack Stadium like the one pictured above made up of banh mi sammies, DOUBLE-FRIED SWEET GINGER CHICKEN WINGS, VIETNAMESE EGG ROLLS and CRISPY TOFU BALLS?  I think that would be pretty frickin’ SWEET! haha (maybe next year y’all.. MAYBE next year ^_^)
(and if you read the note below, even this Vegetarian could respect this AWESOME feat in the name of football LOL)

(TARO) CHIPS!!! (w/ a housemade Thai Curry Apple Chutney+Basil Vinegar sauce ;D)
And can I tell you something special about it? (I’m assuming your answer is “SURE!”) The batter is made with.. VODKA!!! (and it’s so good that way!)
Come on by (possibly TODAY ONLY)- enjoy it as a somewhat traditional FISH+(TARO) CHIPS plate, or SK-style and have it in a banh mi, wrap, salad or over rice (do it like Burger King and “have it your way” foo’s!)

NOTE: Scratch the KALBI-LICIOUS ANGUS BEEF from the record today folks.  It didn’t come out good today so *poof* we’re gonna hold it (and marinate) for another day so it DOES come out good.  What is the BEEF-placement for today you might ask? (if you were really bored and still happen to be at your desk) It looks HIGHLY LIKELY that the NEBRASKA ANGUS JAPANESE MEATBALL CURRY will pop in hopefully by 12.30p.  ^_^
“Bon jour!” Btw, the difference between this week’s and last week’s menu is… LAST WEEK for the CRISPY TOFU BALLS!!  Literally the ONE dish I get hate mail written to me about (not about the dish, but about how we take it away LOL) is about to leave.. but who knows, if you’re nice to us and we’re feelin’ the Xmas spirit, maybe we’ll spread a little “Crispy” holiday cheer to y’all! :)

I know, many of you are getting teary-eyed about it (btw, no joke, MANY a people love ‘em some of deez balls in their mouths!!), so who knows what’s in-store Xmas. ^_^

Otherwise, we’ve decided to continue a lil WILD CARD WEEK-liciousness, so today we bring back the KALBI-LICIOUS ANGUS BEEF.  Not quite your traditional “Kalbi” because Short-ribs are HELLA expensive foo’s, here’s the description we have for it to (hopefully) tantalize your taste buds (btw, it’s ESPECIALLY good w/ the green apple on top!):

Even though (quality) short-ribs are hella expensive, that doesn’t stop us from taking the traditional (and fuckin’ delicious) Korean BBQ marinade recipe and use it on a tender+juicy Angus beef chuck and top it w/ some green apple fruit-tasticness for a lil *CRUNCH*


In other news, I was Facebook stalking one of my employees this AM (*cough* Miles Revis *cough*) and I found the most spectacular POLE DANCING VIDEO and PG rated too just in case you wanna share with your co-workers and not get written.. and if you get written up for this *tsk tsk* this lady is REALLY talented!  Check it out, come in for some #MotownMonday and KALBI-LICIOUSNESS and/or CRISPY TOFU BALL-tasticness!

Did you see that walk move she does too? That’s BADASS!!!

I guess you could also consider WILD CARD WEEK a DAILY SPECIALS week (or something like that) if you wanna be technical and be one of those people that likes to call us out in trying to simplify our cuteness or attitude (what you gotta be like that?? LOL)  All-in-all we’re playin’ around, having fun some oldies but goodies, and changing the dish every day or couple of days so you don’t have to wait 3 to 6 to 8 months for SOME dishes!  First up, the meaty fan fave: TAIWANESE FRIED PORK CHOP!

Why yes we are “Bobby!” We’ve heard MANY a time that the biggest complaint is the line and/or wait time for our deliciousness.  After being barraged w/ that complaint for almost two years (TWO YEARS?!?!), “ach” we finally buckled, hunkered down (I just love that term for some reason ^_^) and figured out an answer. LOL  So we thought we’d do a simple “Grab-and-Go” concept (I gotta give it a cute SK name soon.. I dunno what though) to see if you guys are into that.  Simple idea:
you order
you pay (we hope) 
and (for those of you on a shorter lunch) you’re out!  No waiting for your dish to be made ^_^
We are JUST starting to beta/pilot-test it, so we won’t be making too many yet but if you guys like it.. we’ll do some special dishes JUST for the “Grab-and-Go” crowd.
For this week’s “Grab-and-Go” we wanted to keep it simple = LEMONGRASS CHICKEN banh mi + Spicy Vietnamese Salad

And while you’re enjoying a CRISPY TOFU BALL (conveniently pictured in the background here :D), did you know we you can much on ‘em with some tasty Pineapple Fried Rice y’all?!?!
And with that said, let’s now end and humm with the first MacGyver them song, shall we?!?! (and if MacGyver were still going on, I’m sure he could talk all the ingredients above and make a Tank, a nice Airplane or just simply solve Global Warming.. oh yeah, he’s THAT good! ^_^)

CRISPY TOFU BALLS ..FOREVER!!
From this day forward (but in limited daily quantities depending on how fast and/or desensitized we become to rolling those crunchy green bad boys and that still gives you Festivus followers at least ONE THING to mention during the &#8220;airing of grievances&#8221; haha), they will ALWAYS be an option on the menu.
Yeah, we coulda told you guys earlier (and some of you won&#8217;t find out until later because only 3-5 people on any given month read the blog LOL), but that&#8217;s what a surprise present is all about, right?!?!
After nearly TWO YEARS of serving grub the ONE dish we ALWAYS get asked about may NOT be a fad after all so&#8230; CRISPY TOFU BALLS for ALL (&#8220;in yo&#8217; mouth!&#8221;)
(things like these signs below help a LIL bit too haha)

Ya know what’s REALLY great w/ #NewWaveWeds …TAIWANESE FRIED PORK CHOPS!! (Yeah, we STILL have some more for today=the REAL last day. I’m starting to think my kitchen staff may love it more than THEY even know because THEY’RE the ones that made some more… WOW!)

And while you’re enjoying your TAIWANESE FRIED PORK CHOP, some Pineapple Fried Rice and THE CLASH… don’t forget while the NOM NOM PORK + CRISPY TOFU BALLS are still on the menu you can always request the bastard child of the two dishes that I literally created in my mind on the Angel’s Flight one day (for lil bit extra $$) : the CRISPY NOM NOM BALLS banh mi sammie (btw, it’s MIIIIIGHTY tasty too ^_^)

And on a different note, you should watch this. It’s FUUUUNNY!  If you’ve ever been to Austin (did I mention we’re from TX and we <3 Austin!!), chances are you have heard of or been to the Alamo Draft House movie theaters (thems our friends too y’all ^_^).  I guess they had to kick out an annoying texter in the middle of a movie (btw, texting in a movie is SUPER annoying y’all), they received a funny+hilarious+angry+long voicemail from that annoying texter and here’s the Alamo Draft House’s response with a lil Patton Oswalt and Jason Reitman thrown into the mix to help “deliver the message!” ENJOY!

Btw, it&#8217;s ALSO the last day for the Basil Fried Rice too. If you haven&#8217;t tried the MALAYSIAN COCONUT PINEAPPLE CHICKEN over Basil Fried Rice (and like it SPICY!), this is the BEST way to go (and possibly the best way to bring in the weekend today too&#8230; I&#8217;m just sayin&#8217; ^_^).  That marriage of the two heavenly flavors is like an EXPLOSION (*ka-BOOM*) of fantastic-ness in yo&#8217; MOUTH!
(unless you&#8217;re like that Yelper I mentioned above and you can&#8217;t take &#8220;the HEAT&#8221;.. then veer away and get something else that&#8217;s nice+tasty.. and not so spicy-licious! :D)

What if SK made a Superbowl Snack Stadium like the one pictured above made up of banh mi sammies, DOUBLE-FRIED SWEET GINGER CHICKEN WINGS, VIETNAMESE EGG ROLLS and CRISPY TOFU BALLS?  I think that would be pretty frickin&#8217; SWEET! haha (maybe next year y&#8217;all.. MAYBE next year ^_^)

And on the last SK lunchie-munchies day of the year (which happens to be the KITCHEN NINJA&#8217;s birFday too), let&#8217;s take a look visual look back at the few pics that I coerced the KN into taking this year since she normally RUNS AWAY from any picture being taken! haha (while she&#8217;s culinarily talented, she&#8217;s also adorable&#8230; well at least I think so!)

Today we give you a BIG Christmas/Hanukkah/Festivus present:
CRISPY TOFU BALLS ..FOREVER!!
From this day forward (but in limited daily quantities depending on how fast and/or desensitized we become to rolling those crunchy green bad boys and that still gives you Festivus followers at least ONE THING to mention during the &#8220;airing of grievances&#8221; haha), they will ALWAYS be an option on the menu.
Yeah, we coulda told you guys earlier (and some of you won&#8217;t find out until later because only 3-5 people on any given month read the blog LOL), but that&#8217;s what a surprise present is all about, right?!?!
After nearly TWO YEARS of serving grub the ONE dish we ALWAYS get asked about may NOT be a fad after all so&#8230; CRISPY TOFU BALLS for ALL (&#8220;in yo&#8217; mouth!&#8221;)
(things like these signs below help a LIL bit too haha)

With all of that said, if you didn&#8217;t know lunchie-munchies today is our LAST service of the week (but we&#8217;ll be back Tues, Dec 27th!)  That also means one more day for WILD CARD WEEK and&#8230; the SK KARA-GE which has come in and out a lot during the WILD CARD WEEK madness too.. hmmm peculiar?!?! ^_^)

So Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah/and we can share our air of Festivus grievances tomorrah (like how we don&#8217;t have a proper holiday picture so I used this Halloween one instead to close this post LOL).

Couple of updates for all 2-3 of you that read this (ok, MAYBE 4 on a lucky day ^_^)
NO Din-Dins this week!  We figured it would be nice to give our staff and break (and figured no one would show up, and we don&#8217;t want to be bored waiting for no one.. most of the time at least ^_^)
Tomorrow/Thurs is most LIKELY our last lunch day this week (which also means it&#8217;s the LAST day for the CRISPY TOFU BALLS too!)  We&#8217;ll let y&#8217;all foo&#8217;s know once we make the final decision
WILD CARD WEEK continues with a VERY special (possibly experimental) dish today ONLY

FISH and&#8230;

(TARO) CHIPS!!! (w/ a housemade Thai Curry Apple Chutney+Basil Vinegar sauce ;D)
And can I tell you something special about it? (I&#8217;m assuming your answer is &#8220;SURE!&#8221;) The batter is made with.. VODKA!!! (and it&#8217;s so good that way!)
Come on by (possibly TODAY ONLY)- enjoy it as a somewhat traditional FISH+(TARO) CHIPS plate, or SK-style and have it in a banh mi, wrap, salad or over rice (do it like Burger King and &#8220;have it your way&#8221; foo&#8217;s!)

We know, it&#8217;s like you got a swift kick in the BALLS! (conveniently demonstrated fantastically by Boba Man from The Mighty Boba Truck) :)

NOTE: Scratch the KALBI-LICIOUS ANGUS BEEF from the record today folks.  It didn&#8217;t come out good today so *poof* we&#8217;re gonna hold it (and marinate) for another day so it DOES come out good.  What is the BEEF-placement for today you might ask? (if you were really bored and still happen to be at your desk) It looks HIGHLY LIKELY that the NEBRASKA ANGUS JAPANESE MEATBALL CURRY will pop in hopefully by 12.30p.  ^_^

Otherwise, we&#8217;ve decided to continue a lil WILD CARD WEEK-liciousness, so today we bring back the KALBI-LICIOUS ANGUS BEEF.  Not quite your traditional &#8220;Kalbi&#8221; because Short-ribs are HELLA expensive foo&#8217;s, here&#8217;s the description we have for it to (hopefully) tantalize your taste buds (btw, it&#8217;s ESPECIALLY good w/ the green apple on top!):

Even though (quality) short-ribs are hella expensive, that doesn’t stop us from taking the traditional (and fuckin’ delicious) Korean BBQ marinade recipe and use it on a tender+juicy Angus beef chuck and top it w/ some green apple fruit-tasticness for a lil *CRUNCH*


In other news, I was Facebook stalking one of my employees this AM (*cough* Miles Revis *cough*) and I found the most spectacular POLE DANCING VIDEO and PG rated too just in case you wanna share with your co-workers and not get written.. and if you get written up for this *tsk tsk* this lady is REALLY talented!  Check it out, come in for some #MotownMonday and KALBI-LICIOUSNESS and/or CRISPY TOFU BALL-tasticness!

And before you skim down and figure out which dish(es) we&#8217;re bringing in today, FYI the Pineapple Fried Rice is back in da HOUSE!

I guess you could also consider WILD CARD WEEK a DAILY SPECIALS week (or something like that) if you wanna be technical and be one of those people that likes to call us out in trying to simplify our cuteness or attitude (what you gotta be like that?? LOL)  All-in-all we&#8217;re playin&#8217; around, having fun some oldies but goodies, and changing the dish every day or couple of days so you don&#8217;t have to wait 3 to 6 to 8 months for SOME dishes!  First up, the meaty fan fave: TAIWANESE FRIED PORK CHOP!

Why yes we are &#8220;Bobby!&#8221; We&#8217;ve heard MANY a time that the biggest complaint is the line and/or wait time for our deliciousness.  After being barraged w/ that complaint for almost two years (TWO YEARS?!?!), &#8220;ach&#8221; we finally buckled, hunkered down (I just love that term for some reason ^_^) and figured out an answer. LOL  So we thought we&#8217;d do a simple &#8220;Grab-and-Go&#8221; concept (I gotta give it a cute SK name soon.. I dunno what though) to see if you guys are into that.  Simple idea:
you order
you pay (we hope) 
and (for those of you on a shorter lunch) you&#8217;re out!  No waiting for your dish to be made ^_^
We are JUST starting to beta/pilot-test it, so we won&#8217;t be making too many yet but if you guys like it.. we&#8217;ll do some special dishes JUST for the &#8220;Grab-and-Go&#8221; crowd.
For this week&#8217;s &#8220;Grab-and-Go&#8221; we wanted to keep it simple = LEMONGRASS CHICKEN banh mi + Spicy Vietnamese Salad
