The Adventures of Starry Kitchen (“GOODBYE STARRY KITCHEN NOHO!” Not much more to...)

UPDATE: man this blog post looks bland. I’m adding some more pics.  HOORAY!

For all 5 (okay, I’m sure MAYBE 6) of you new followers that JUST found us because you read that nice lil article in the LA Weekly (http://bit.ly/7HSJ3o) written by Katherine Spiers (http://katherinespiers.tumblr.com/), I gotta burst your bubble if you haven’t done enough research about us:

NoHo is NoMO(re)

Don’t worry, we too were saddened, but sometimes you just gotta move on in life. (or not, but it’s the truth ya’ll!)

Buttery Kimchi Fried Rice

WAY Above I linked to our “Goodbye” dinner party we had a couple of weeks ago if you want to check out more info, and see how many people we can fit in our apartment! haha

In short, if you read the article, you’ll find out others are not as amused by our experiment than we or some of you are.  But NO WORRIES Los Angeles…

If you’re just joining us for this chapter in our story ,”The TWILIGHT Kitchen Saga” (I know… LAME but I couldn’t help it… and maybe we’ll get some of that Twihard contingent to camp out for our DT opening ^_^), we’re taking over a location (as a matter of fact I’m blogging FROM this very location… OOooOOooOOHHHhhh) in the California Plaza downtown.  You can see pics of the location and some test-runs we’ve already done here: http://bit.ly/7HoORo

SK R&D: Curry Crab

If you want more info, feel free to email us anytime at the address to the left.  Otherwise follow us on Twitter (@starrykitchen) or our Facebook Page (http://facebook.com/starrykitchen) for the latest and greatest updates and incomprehensible psychobabble that I love to dish out from time to time.

Til then, if you didn’t had the pleasure of stopping by our apartment you’re missing out not only because of our food… but because of one very special individual.  Here’s our lovable pet, mascot and confidant: GQ

(psssst - you wouldn’t believe it, but he’s 8 years old… oh yeah, and he for some reason likes cilantro ^_^)

It's GQ!

Much love,

“What’s new in the STARRY KITCHEN that we’re making that you can’t eat (yet)?” you might be asking yourself on a Friday night while staring at your screen half-drunk, half-hungry and half-high (I mean high “on life” of course). If that’s the case, that’s a little sad… I mean, that’s what other people might say but we at STARRY KITCHEN don’t judge unless it’s like for a pie tasting contest or a beauty contest where the only category IS the swimsuit category (ouch ouch… I’m so sorry my Kitchen Ninja Wife, it won’t happen again… unless it entertains people or actually gets me a swimsuit ONLY beauty contest judging spot ^^).

To answer the previous question - the dish above is stir-fried curry crab. Oh man, it’s so good it’s time for a random cultural reference. You know lil Bobby, Hindu Indians don’t eat beef because they worship ‘em, and after eating some of this flavorful crab they definitely wouldn’t miss eating that cow and would be happy with their life long decision not consume these peaceful and tasty animals. You like that? Well, the fun don’t stop there my friend(s).

Below is stir-fried chili crab. This one’s got so much KICK it nearly knocked my ass back home to Dallas! “Which one’s better” you ask? Well damnit, why do you gotta put me on the spot like that? I mean seriously, I don’t do that to any of you (except when I stare at you while you’re eating and then ask you “did you like it?” when i already know your answer is going to be a form of incomprehsible mumbling because it’s so GOOD that you’re speechless). To answer your question (cop out time): well I love crab so I love ‘em both!

From Blog PicsOf course, we’re still on for Sunday service (12-3p). This Sunday, I can definitely tell you it’s a chicken dish. You wanna know what exactly? Who do you think I am, that silly F’ing Trix Rabbit? You wanna know- you come and find out or wait one more day for my blog post to tell ya! ;)

On one final note, the Kitchen Ninja was “stealthily” going through our pantry in ninja like fashion and found a dessert mix that we bought to try out, and… well, you read for yourself. We still don’t understand it, but thought it was hilarious enough to share. And if you don’t think it’s funny, s’alright, ‘cuz we do. I still don’t know what a “spueege” is. I can’t even tell if it’s a verb, noun, adjective. What ever it is, I don’t think I like it! haha
