Starry Kitchen
All I really need to say is: TAIWANESE FRIED PORK CHOP is BAAAACK!! <- the most popular dish next to the CRISPY TOFU BALLS.
And speaking of…

We have a limited secret stash of CRISPY TOFU BALLS (today ONLY) we saved from the Gold Standard if you would like some of “our balls” as well.

And oh yeah… thanks again “Johnny” Gold (Note: I’m pretty sure he doesn’t go by that, so I’m just “having fun” since he’s a swell and nice guy) for inviting us to the Gold Standard yesterday.. like I posted before, it twas very fun! ^_^

Toodles,

Running late, gotta run, enjoy this video (if I haven’t shared it before). It’s HILARIOUS! (we’re also considering their “secret” ingredient ^_^)

Oh yeah, today is the last day for both SAVORY SAKE TOFU and PEANUT-CILANTRO DAN DAN NOODLES!

Toodles,

TEAM SK

PS- Jonathan Gold doesn’t really look like that.. kinda.. not really. That guy’s a lil more “Indian” than Jonathan is. ^_^

Dear Mr. Man (aka Jonathan Gold aka @thejgold ),

Just wanted to say “THAAAAANKS” for inviting us to be part of your 3rd Annual Gold Standard event today. It was SWEET!!

The best part (other than supporting Heal the Bay of course): for us, today felt like the culmination of all different people (chefs, restaurateurs, bloggers, writers, foodies, fans & etc) that we’ve been so lucky to have met in the last year we’ve been legit. A sort of “reunion” to remind us of how many new friends we’ve made in this last year (like Mr Ilan Hall doing the Asian peace pose above! ^_^) And if we never make it farther than we have now, at least we’ll have this memory forever and a reminder of all these new friends we’ve made in the process.

(And I’ll be the first to admit, its been a very lucky & fortunate year for us too.. So damn thankful!!)

So for all that, we thank you again Jonathan for bringing us together today. Its frickin’ AWESOME to be part of this today.

Many more thanks (in addition to the thanks above of course;D),

TEAM SK

PS-if you HAPPEN to invite us again next year, I’m sure we could “work something out” in our schedule to fit it in LOL ;)

Hey, we’re just like you.. we TOO take off for Memorial Day (aka we are unfortunately not open on Memorial Day)

Yup, we ain’t/isn’t/aren’t/can’t/too tired to/don’t wanna (because we gotta rest!) open on Memorial Day weekend. For those that have read a lot of recent stuff (aka mumbo jumbo) including the Jonathan Gold blurb on us (below *wink wink*)… yeah, you’re gonna have to wait til Thurs+Fri/6-9p dinner OR just sneak out and get some lunchie munchies w/ us M-F/11-3p.

(THIS is coming in on Tuesday.. that is if you know what THIS is ^_^)

Until then, here’s some reading for ya if you haven’t already skipped to all the other craziness on the blog (which I assume you have ^_^):

Here’s the short and sweet blurb from Jonathan Gold himself about Starry Kitchen in the LA Weekly (YES!)

No More Celestial Nights

Starry Kitchen, out of the backyard and into the food court

Since you’re here, why not read about my KFC Double Down exploits as published by the LA Times! LOL Btw, the way he writes about here is pretty accurate, and I coincidentally was RIGHT in front of the writer himself. And I promise ya, I had NO idea who he was (nor did I care). I was just ready to try me some Double Down that day.:)

In the late afternoon of April 12, 32-year-old Nguyen Tran of North Hollywood stepped into the KFC at the corner of Witmer and West 6th streets near downtown Los Angeles.

And if you’re still bored waiting for the work week to begin again, here’s an awesome fried chicken commericial for your entertainment… and I mean, AWESOME!!

Xoxo,
