Kajagoogoo..KAJAGOOGOO!! That’s what the name of this group is that sing’s “Too shy to shyyyy.. hush hush, eye to eye!!” Seriously, it’s not a joke. I didn’t even know that until I sought out the video today for NEW WAVE WEDNESDAY (I literally could just start and end the post w/ their name ‘cause I’m still laughing about the name! ^_^)

Well, since that’s outta the way…

  • don’t forget that this week’s the LAST week for the SK KARA-GE (more popularly known as the “Japanese Popcorn Chicken!”)
  • and we are most DEFINITELY moving forward w/ FRIED CHICKEN NIGHT(S) for this Thurs+Friday Din-Dins! Seems to be a popular idea, so know this now… quantity is limited. I might change it to reservations to help make sure no one angrily picks up a chicken bone off someone elses table and throws it at me because we ran out for the night. Don’t worry, I’ll let all 4-5 of you readers know! LOL

Happy week…???.. OMG, do I TRULY not remember what week we are? Is that a good or bad sign, huh?!?!  I think it’s 16, or possibly 17… but I’m not sure. But WTH, time to revel in not counting the days (or…ummm.. WEEKS) and just trying to grow this mamma jamma. ^_^

First, read the menu if you want a nice lil ol’ description on the tofu (don’t be deterred cause its Vegan… it’s still delish). Secondly,the DAN-DAN NOODLES aren’t veggie friendly only because we do use chicken stock to flavor ‘em. SO, if you can eat that, GREAT! If you can’t, you can at least say we didn’t lie to ya. ^_^
So much to talk about, and so little time… but why don’t you start off your week by watching this fun little romp of a YouTube video. It’s quite entertaining, and it stars… ADRIEN BRODY! LOL (thx to friend Justin Mandel for posting this on his Facebook page.. I just saw it this morning, “stole” it and felt like posting it here… and it’s HILARIOUS)

Today maybe your last day for this lunch rotation, but its the first day for… Ach.. who am I kidding. This week you’ve been living in the shadow of the Taiwanese Fried Pork Chop (who can blame ‘em), and for that I apologise to you my tasty ground Nebraska Angus beef “child!”  But regardless, ya gots to go (after today ;D) along w/ the KIMCHI FRIED RICE too.. O’ MY!

So I’m sure some of you that are extremely bored are asking, “.. And what does this picture of awesomeness also know as the Double-fried Sweet Ginger Glazed Chicken have to do with any of this?”

And to that, I say, “I’m hungry, and I want to share my love for these chix wings with you!”

Happy yet?!?!

Well, since we’re still here, don’t forget:

#1- we’re one of the MANY people (bloggers and chefs alike) contributing to the Eat My Blog charity bake-sale tomorrow in WeHo. Come support, buy some tantalizing sweets (we’re doing Pandan Vanilla… CHURRRROS) and all for a good cause too (the LA Food Bank).

#2- We’ve added Saturday night Din Dins (6-9.30p) too. Come get it!

#3- the Grand Performances FREE concert series in Cal Plaza (where we’re at) starts TONIGHT!

#4- this Saturday night we’re partnering w/ the supa dupa awesome COOL HAUS ice cream sammie truck (they’re so EFFIN cool!). Eat at SK and get $1 off two sammies (and enjoy the music and maybe get “lucky” later… If ya know what I mean *wink wink* ^_^)

You know, ONE day, whether we’re successful or living with our parents again (which could mean we’re SO successful we’ve moved in with them… HEY, it could happen), I’m going to look back on these absurd (some would say.. absurdly BRILLIANT! LOL) posts and wonder about…

Whether it was at the GRILLED CHEESE INVITATIONAL (maybe we’ll compete next year!) or the totally SWEET and hip-ly independent design + gift show, UNIQUE LA (I got me a SWEET shirt from there!), it was a great and non-crappy weekend to be out-and-about in our fair city (if I don’t say so myself).
But you’re not here (as usual) to read my musings and jibba-jabba, but instead to see what’s up this week. Yup, we have a returning category today. Against what I thought wouldn’t work, the Kitchen Ninja has again vetoed my ignorance, proved me wrong (as she rightfully should) and brought back a HUGE fave DTLA:

(and the land re-joiced by also buying many a breath mint to counter their addiction for this beloved fried rice)

That’s right.. it’s goin’ away! The KITCHEN NINJA’s brilliant creation is leaving us. If you’ve tried it, come and get it before it goes away. If you haven’t, it could be 2 MONTHS before it comes back. Maybe sooner, but probably not chockos. :)
