And if you didn’t know.. we hads to step out today ‘cause the ‘rents-in-laws are in town. Here are my words of encouragement above to make sure yer food comes out GooOOOOoooOOoooD!

And as a matter of fact, this might be a FIRST in SK history that we FINALLY got a REALLY good Yelp review during one of the FEW times we stepped away (no kidding, most times we get slammed on SOMETHING when we step out… DOH! AMAZING (and read that sucka HERE)

Alrighty, remember it’s the LAST day for the LEMONGRASS TOFU too! :p

With all that mumbo-jumbo said, what better way to bring in the weekend (outside of a tasty-ass ice cream float of course) than w/ a Bee Gees Pink Floyd Mash-up! (this is pretty fuckin’ sweet y’all… WATCH and enjoy.. or don’t but at least I enjoyed it ^_^)

Ze bad news: Bye-bye vegan-RRIFIC LEMONGRASS TOFU! You have one more week.. and then… and THEN… another possibly “popular” vegetarian dish will take it’s place. HmmmMMMmmmmMMMmm what could THAT be?!?!

So today we’re pressed for time and I’m a bloggin’ from the car, so let’s make this blog-tacular “quickie” (get your heads outta the gutters foo’s haha):

-last lunch-munch day for the CHINESE HOISIN HAMBURGER (fyi- get it over rice and mash it up GOOOOOD.. That’ freakin’ faaaaantastic!)

-tonight’s din-dins is the last night for ze lip-smackin’-licious LEMONGRASS TOFU (in some cultures I haven’t discovered yet, I’m pretty sure this “could” be an aphrodisiac.. But no promises other than its pretty tasty!)

-unfortunately no DURIAN FLAN CHEESECAKE tonight (my workaholic-self might have pushed my body to the limits this week.. But hey, I’m still alive!), but we do have what seems to be a new fave, PANDAN CHEESECAKE (yeah, if you haven’t noticed we’re kinda Pandan-addicts.. Can’t help it.. Its so good! “Stick it in my veeeeeins!”)

-lastly, even if leprechauns and unicorns take you for granted (which happens), we won’t and will always love you (well, unless you act like a d-bag.. Then we’ll hafta reconsider ;p)

If ya didn’t figure it out… the Kitchen Ninja (aka @StarryKN) kinda likey her some tofu!! (aka the SWEET+SPICY GINGER FRIED TOFU is back and pretty F’ING delish… if you don’t mind me saying)

SO if you just missed (i.e. “SKIPPED”) my “aka” comment above, YUP, the SWEET+SPICY GINGER FRIED TOFU (veggie-friendly btw) is back… and it’s pretty awesome! Outside of the CRISPY TOFU BALLS, this is the ONLY other tofu we fry (all others are marinated+sauteed in flavortastic ways like last weeks LEMONGRASS TOFU) PLUS We use soft tofu INSTEAD of firm tofu to fry ‘cause.. well, firm tofu kinda gets a “yucky” (which is a real word to describe textures by the way) rubbery texture sometimes, and soft tofu is “Barry White” silky smooth and combined with that crunch- it’s “oh so delightful!” ;)

And that sh-t (aka “flavors!”) the Kitchen Ninja tosses it in is pretty darn DELICIOUS y’all. It’s SO good (in my very humble and subtle opinion of course ^_^), that the sauce was originally designed for meat (True story!) and she was like,

“Ach… why does meat have to get the good stuff all the time. This time.. VEGGIES get ‘em the GOOOOOOOD stuff!” And then she broke out in dance-and-song to Bobby Brown’s “Mr Prerogative” to make sure that people and meat knows what’s up and who’s the boss!

(I kinda remember her reacting JUST like that… maybe.. possibly… okay not really but it could be a better dramatization than the reality :D)

#1-It’s New Wave Weds w/ the Pet Shop Boys today… Woo HOO

#2-last week for LEMONGRASS TOFU… boo HOO

… now that #2 is outta the way, let’s get back to the hilarity that is point #1 (albeit one of my fave and lesser known Pet Shop Boys songs too, DOMINO DANCING!)

So in this video here’s what I could gather from it: the main guy goes shirtless.. has a shirt.. goes shirtless.. stalks and stares at chicks in a creepy manner.. wears a shirt again.. changes his mind and goes shirtless… and then he goes blind folded (but this last point doesn’t matter ‘cause it’s not as funny). What does this all mean? New Wave hilarity.. that’s what!!

But anyway, I gotta go… DOOOOOMINO DANCING (but with my shirt, because I don’t look as buff as that guy… YET! haha)

Dear meat eaters, we always love ya but we have to say BYE-BYE this week to the tongue-twisting-ethnically-and-geographically-confused (btw, I don’t think that’s enough hyphenates.. but I’ll end it there) NEBRASKA ANGUS JAPANESE MEATBALL CURRY!

PS-“technically” the dessert should be called a Pandan Flan Cheesecake… BUT, that would be so confusing since we DO serve a PANDAN FLAN.. just in case you were still bored (how bored are you anyway?!?! LOL)

Just in case you’re starting your work late because of the President’s Days shennanigans and drunken debauchery you participated in (or was that just me???), here’s a reminder:

LAST WEEK for the Vegan-riffic LEMONGRASS TOFU (it really is quite delicious foo’s)

If you haven’t had this mo’fo of a dish yet, but are interested.. TRY IT! It’s frickin’ YUMMERS and takes us two days to marinate too (but you don’t have to wait two days after you order… most of the time at least ;D)

And just in case you were wondering in the eternal battle of LEMONGRASS TOFU vs the TAIWANESE FRIED PORK CHOP… this time TOFU WON (only because the “dastardly” pork was actually only the menu for one day…

And if you didn’t know already from the multitude of pork belly mentions already…

SPICY KOREAN BLACK/BERKSHIRE/KUROBUTA PORK BELLY makes it’s triumphant return (how a piece of a food can be triumphant in it’s return is still questionable BUT it sure does sound nifty, right??)

(I promise I’ll take a new picture of this soon… maybe in a tasty banh mi ‘cause it’s REALLY good in that)

And I do want to address one thing with this dish: it’s funny to read that this is like what you can get in a Korean joint in K-town, and nothing special and blah blah blah… but hey y’all, while you’re tryin’ to be snarky, that’s actually a compliment to us! (HOORAY!) Sometimes the “classics” don’t need to be reinvented if it’s already DELICIOUS (I mean, I’m just sayin’ foo’s LOL)

So to all y’all tryin’ to throw “caution to the wind” with a lil sarcastic snark our way… SWEEEEET and we’ll TAKE IT ‘cause that was the intention chockos! Thanks y’all!! ^_^
