HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR (of the Dragon!) & 2nd day of @dine_LA too (even though it’s technically SK’s 1st day since we’re not open on Sundays.. but you get what we mean ^_^)

And what TWO (‘cause we’re Asian and all about “value” in the house of SK LOL) better ways to bring in the dineLA Dragon Lunar Chinese New Year than:

1. Giving EVERYONE celebrating (aka “eating” ;D) with us today lucky red envelopes w/ lychee+longan candy (conveniently pictured above ^_^)
2. And posting a traditional Chinese New Years song from a show about Chinese culture that’s made in the US (long awkward yet respectful pause to think if that even makes sense)… TAKE IT AWAY “Ni Hao Kai Lan” Gang! (it is quite cute though ^_^)

…or you could bring it in w/ a FRIED EGG on top of some VIET MINCED BEEF-TACULAR (feel free to allow your eyes to be distracted by the EGG above at this time ^_^) and/or other dineLA deliciousness too like the LYCHEE PANNA COTTA w/ SALTED PLUM SAUCE “oooOOOOoooh!”  That would work just fine too.

Alrighty, time to get DRAGON (and/or dineLA) CRAZY in this Lunar New Year y’all… See ya! (unless you’re passed out like I am in this “drunken dramatization” below :D)

PS-oh yeah, the menu stays the same for the next two weeks since we’re doing dineLA too. I mean, if that’s cool with you (cause we’re gonna be doin’ that way regardless.. suckas! ;P)

Happy Chinese New Year ASIANS (in Asia, not here… yet)

… oh yeah, and Happy New Wave Wednesday (in Asia AND here) with some ALPHAVILLE (yes, before Jay-Z used the song, pretty tastefully I might add, there as THIS New Wave ClasSIC!)

So if you didn’t know:

1. We’re Asian… no really, we are!
2. Tomorrow is Lunar/Chinese New Year

And there you have it, your worldly educational lesson of the day. YAY!

Time’s a short ‘cause we gots THREE more days of DineLA (which is keeping us VERY busy), so I gots to go… but for the n00b Yelpers and similar just remember this piece of advice (as depicted in this handsome picture of ME below… tee hee);

HAAAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR! (for the Chinese it’s the year of the RABBIT; for the Vietnamese it’s the year of the CAT… I will effectively now refer to this year as the year of the CRABBIT!)

So jump up for joy (possibly not with two bottles of wine as I’m doing here in this picture above.. for the safety of the bottles of course cause you might want to consume those tasty beverages!) more than 1/3 of the world is celebrating this, gettin’ drunksies and havin’ a LOT of fun! ^_^

And because of DineLA, we weren’t prepared to do anything special today (we really wanted to) so:

FREE FOUNTAIN DRINKS for EVERYONE for the Lunar New Year… YAY!!

SO have fun yourself (maybe at SK for lunch and/or Din-Dins tonight for DineLA maybe?!?!?!) and enjoy. And if you aren’t Asian and don’t have Asian friends… who cares!! Dress up as a CRABBIT (and/or in your favorite Banana Suit)

Just thought it would be nice to post a video instead of just a… ummm… text only post from US!  Time to bring in that year of the Tiger (Grrrrrrr), and see what this m’fer called SK can do!
