D-D-D-D… @Dine_LA Restaurant Week is OOOOON (& don’t forget #MotownMonday too SUCKAS! ^_^) So we have some new menu-tasticness and along with that… we LOCK the rotation so as well (just in case you’re wondering, the flavor-licious “love maker” MALAYSIAN CHICKEN CURRY is up next!!)

And before we jump into the vertbosity that is… our DINE LA menu, FYI- my ALL-TIME comfort food is back: the BRAISED COCONUT PORK BELLY (aka “thit kho” to Vietnamese folks like you and me ;D)
Alrighty.. now we have that outta the way, onto…

So here’s how it works, you get pick to 1 out of 3 choices of Appetizers, Entree and Dessert for a fixed price for $16 (that’s a lotta food son!) At least HALF of these menu are items we’ve never served before either (WOO HOO!). So here ya go (chockos ^_^):
APPETIZERS:
SAVORY PORK WONTONS IN CHILI OIL-LICIOUSNESS


A classically delicious Chinese dish w/ hand-wrapped wontons (yeah, we do that) filled w/ sake+sesame marinated ground pork in cute lil wonton morsels pleasantly swimming in a lightly sweet+spicy (but simply) delicious chili oil mixture. It’s a classic for a reason (i.e. it’s frickin’ GOOD.. and like wonton-CRACK!)
CILANTRO SCALLION MEATBALL SOUP (aka “SK Asian Albondigas”)

Everything you need to know is in the name, and it’s delicious… that is all! (oh yeah, and we make our own light+comforting broth and “stock” it an assortment of fresh veggies for your mouth’s maximum enjoyment too. We promise!)
SWEET+SPICY GINGER FRIED TOFU..LETTUCE WRAP

We finally did it- Team SK has jumped into the ‘lettuce wrap’ race chockos! We take our house-fried soft tofu that’s tossed in a freakin’ fantastical glaze of umami-liciousness, then top it with some veggie-friendly crunchie-munchies for your enjoyment… “You’re welcome world” ;D
ENTREES!:
SALTED-PLUM CHICKEN WINGS (CONFIT!)

If we had only two words to describe it’s awesomeness: “SOOOOOO COOOOMFORTING!” (thankfully we have more) We confit/braise the chicken wings to make ‘em extra-tasty-tender (get it, it’s kinda like KFC w/ “tender” instead o’ “crispy”, but I digress), and then finish them in a super-duper savory sauce made of slowly broken down salted plum, ginger & scallions to produce an unlikely menagerie of pure.. f’ing.. flavor-tastic BLISS (over rice) =)
BRAISED COCONUT PORK (BELLY!) (aka “thit kho) w/ sliced hard boiled eggs FTW
(since there’s already a picture of it above, I just thought I’d share with ya how it makes me feel when I eat it… SO GOOD!)

The most classic Vietnamese dish of all time (and one of my favorite-est dishes of all too!) It’s a carmelized pork (BELLY!) slowly cooked in a beautifully delicious marriage of VN spices, sauces & coconut milk.  Eat meat? Good, you’ll thank us later. ^_^
JALAPENO GREEN CURRY TOFU

The name says it all but… Take one of the creamiest and smoothest curries known to man kind (aka Thai Green Curry), marry it w/ a barely that spicy green chili (aka Jalapenos) and throw in some bell peppers w/a lightly fried tofu to take in all the flavor=oh YES!!
DESSERTS!:
COCONUT PANDAN PANNA COTTA
(this actually the Pandan Flan pictured, but it looks very similar.. but tastes VERY different. No joke!! ^_^)

If coconuts could consumate their perfectly delicious relationship w/ the aromatic+green pandan leaf (definition below if you dunno what pandan is ^_^) while on holiday in let’s say…ITALY, we’d like to think THIS twist on the classic italian cream dessert could happen (with a lil bit of South-east Asian fruit on top for good measure too of course)
PANDAN DONUT HOLES w/ PANDAN INFUSED CONDENSED MILK

Oh GLORIOUS Pandan. We here at SK LOVE Pandan. If ya don’t know what pandan is, it’s an aromatic leaf from Southeast Asia, and many cultures use extract of the leaf iin both sweet & savory dishes.
Normally a Din-Dins (aka Dinner) ONLY dessert, once you dip that aromatically cake-y green sucka (aka “Pandan Donut Hole”) in “the bacon of DESSERTS” (aka “Pandan infused Condensed Milk”) you’ll understand.. oh yes, you’ll UNDERSTAND! (and hopefully follow us on facebook and/or twitter after that ^_^)
FLUFFY THE APPLE FRITTER & IT’S BANANA JAM SIDEKICK

If you didn’t know, we here at SK also love ball shaped foods (“BAAAAALLS!”), and the fluff-tastic Apple Fritter is great addition to our bad humor and/or repetoir. It’s fluffy, light (did I mention FLUFFY) and completely apple-tastic, but is bestowed super flavor powers once dipped in this banana jam that was inspired by one of our fans. When Fluffy the Apple Fritter+Banana Jam unite *ka-BOOOM* - possibly NSFW results (‘cause it’s THAT FAAAAAAANTASTIC! ^_^)
