Come, eat some Fried Chicken.. snack on some Okinawan Sweet Potato Fries.. revel in the Pandan Waffles.. immerse yourself in the Asian Sesame Slaw.. take a gander at the Chinese Chicken Pepper Gravy.. and wash all them “mother fuckers” down w/ some Cucumber Mint Agua Fresca.

Happy Pre-Malay Chix Curry #PotPieTues (aka Monday!) Please enjoy this latest #FriedChickenandPandanWafflesWeds preview (its ALMOST COMPLETE!!!) It has almost all the fixins: super juicy w/ a lil bit o’ spice Fried Chix, Asian Sesame Slaw (from the ol’ SK lunch days ;D), Okinawan Sweet Potato Garlic Fries and Pandan Waffles w/ egg-y-licious Kaya sauce for Southeast Asian in all of us. Haha The last piece=we haven’t settled on the fried chix dippin’ sauce/gravy yet.. hmmmmmmmm

Before we go off on the weekend, make some chicken wings for a BBQ(we’ll take pix), eat some mo’ good food and completely geek out at Anime Expo ‘09- I’ll leave you with one of my ALL TIME favorite J-POP songs from a very popular all girl group called SPEED from Japan. The song’s about 12 years old now, but MAN I love this song (I even karaoke this with my remedial Japanese ^^).
Why do we introduce stuff like this? Outside of that fact that I used to live and breath this stuff, and every time I geek out at conventions my brain gets rushed with the images, experiences and sometimes the smells (which aren’t pleasant… but that’s a whole ‘nutha blog). All our food IS Pan-Asian, and the pop-culture behind it is sometimes just as interesting (but not nearly as tasty) as the food. And hey, did a little culture ever hurt ya? I mean, it’s not like “culture” can kick you in the balls and leave ya to cry like a little baby while others point, laugh and mock you (I gotta create an Asian pose for that). ^_^
