So this “rotation” jazz continues, and for those of you that have come along for the ride (or have just eaten at SK… which is a whole lot easier :D) I’m sure you guys have figured out what goes away WILL eventually come back. And today is no exception chockos.
If you haven’t already scrolled all the way down to figure out what this is (or it’s just on your screen because it’s large enough to see it all DOH!), my FAVORITE quote from a fan for this dish is, “It speaks to my soul.” Ok, maybe that doesn’t mean much to you, but that means a lot to me when I personally just think it tastes “NICE!!!” Well, without further ado (because there really isn’t ANY element of surprise on this blog anyway LOL):

And oh yeah, the dish rotating OUT (because “it” happens) is a NEW fan fave:
MALAYSIAN COCONUT PINEAPPLE CHICKEN

I know, it’s a sucky thing to do.. so come get some (preferably those two together ‘cause they taste EXTRA NICE together!)

Not as “ballsy” as our buddies at Team @RedMedcineLA ‘s recent bad ass-ery (whether you/we all agree w/ it or not ^_^), but I can’t think of a better way to kick off the holiday break (L’haim to that my brothas & sistahs!) than a beautifully photoshopped wedding picture of us and our… BAAAAAALLS!!! haha
(I mean, we gots to bring it back to us chockos.. and why argue about critics and other “industry” mumbo-jumbo all day long when you can laugh at us all day long too! ^_^)
Our friend/fan Danny P had some spare time, enjoyed our wedding pics and enjoyed our balls (the crispy tofu kind of course)… so this was a naturally logical progression if you think about it (if you’re very creative and/or high “as a kite!” maybe LOL) And as much as some of you’z wouldn’t believe it, this was ALL Danny’s idea. So “Bravo… BRAVO” Danny. You, as always, are the best-est (also because he walks our dog GQ for us from time to time… what a guy!! ^_^)

Back to other delicious business- like how you should enjoy and savor the MALAYSIAN COCONUT PINEAPPLE CHICKEN on a bed of Shallot Fried Rice ‘cause it’s REALLY F’ING GOOOOOOD that way! (conveniently pictured below ;D)

SOOOOOO today is our LAST meal(s) day of the week (11-3/Lunchie-Munchies & 6-9.30p/Din-Dins), with also the RETURN of the belovedly (<- that’s a legitimate version of the word stupid spell checker, I promise!) JUUUUICY:
SK KARA-GE (aka Japanese Popcorn Chicken) for Din-Dins ONLY… TONIGHT! (come and get it… pretty pretty PLEASE?!?!)

BUT just in case you were wondering about next week, we did change our mind about next week:
we will be OPEN Monday/12.27 (& possibly Tuesday/12.28) for Lunchie-Munchies too!
Kinda wanna see if people will come out and play (and while you’re “playing” maybe you want to EAT at SK too! LOL) That and next week is going to be the beginning of a test, and not just ANY test:
BUT the test of our staff.. WITHOUT myself and/or the Kitchen Ninja!!
(these jokers below don’t work for us anymore, but as you can see as we misconstrue this pic.. it could be a lot more foolin’ around while we’re gone… which means it won’t actually be too different than normal LOL ;p)

2011 is gonna be about kicking it into… OVEEEEERDRIVE (or at least one more gear above the gear were at right now OR kicking it down one gear and “revving up the RPMS” super-high depending on how geeky+technical+NERDY [like me] you are about these analogies… ^_^) because next year is about not only having MORE fun for us, but we will attempt the seemingly impossible.. EXPANSION (Finally!)

(it’s actually been published in a couple of places including Eater LA and an interview the KN did for Menuism) Sorry we didn’t acknowledge it before, it’s just too busy sometimes… thas all. Happy Wednesday.. 3 more days for the BULGOGI BURGER + Shallot Fried Rice leave us (I would “say it ain’t so”… but it IS so!).. the CRACK CRAB CAKE is officially gone (but next time we’ll spell crab with a K at the request of many!)… and what better way to celebrate a fine NEW WAVE WEDNESDAY than…

“TAINTED LOVE (woooo ooh), TAINTED LOVE!”

Such a weird video (as most of the 80’s was filled with), but another awesome “one-hit wonder” that will make Pan-Asian Comfort Food taste better?!?! (maybe?!?! ^_^)

On a side note, I learned something new with the current fried rice. Aussies and Brits pronounce shallots… shaLLOTS w/ the emphasis on the ‘LOTS!’ So if you didn’t know and don’t want to sound like a “wanker” (I know, that’s a MEAN thing to say but it’s just so cute sounding… LOL) in those countries when buying, ordering or discussing shaLLOTS, now you know and won’t get in a fist fight over a vegetable (but if you’re drinking lotsa alcohol and saying other stupid stuff I can’t protect ya from getting knocked the F’ out then ^_^)

Hope everyone’s well, eatin’ like there’s no tomorrow and participating in random acts of tomfoolery (yeah, I do like that term… it’s strangely hilarious to me).

And even though I said &#8220;two&#8221; things (i.e. I lied), the Shallot Fried Rice is back too AND it&#8217;s the last week from the LEMONGRASS TOFU.

HAPPY MLK DAY (and if you&#8217;re free and hungry, we&#8217;re open for lunch today too! ^_^)
So this &#8220;rotation&#8221; jazz continues, and for those of you that have come along for the ride (or have just eaten at SK&#8230; which is a whole lot easier :D) I&#8217;m sure you guys have figured out what goes away WILL eventually come back. And today is no exception chockos.
If you haven&#8217;t already scrolled all the way down to figure out what this is (or it&#8217;s just on your screen because it&#8217;s large enough to see it all DOH!), my FAVORITE quote from a fan for this dish is, &#8220;It speaks to my soul.&#8221; Ok, maybe that doesn&#8217;t mean much to you, but that means a lot to me when I personally just think it tastes &#8220;NICE!!!&#8221; Well, without further ado (because there really isn&#8217;t ANY element of surprise on this blog anyway LOL):

And we do it &#8220;OC style&#8221; (as I like to call it) and serve THIS in the sammie and/or wrap w/ a crispy fried egg roll wrapper:

OH yeah, the Kitchen Ninja (who&#8217;s on that there Twitter now by the way at @StarryKN) has changed up the recipe for the &#8220;NOM NOM&#8221; PORK and is so happy with the way the flavors have come out that she feels there is no need any more for what we used to call the Yum Yum SK Sauce. So for those that will wonder, have read this far, are completely bored and have experienced this before&#8230; there you have it.
And oh yeah, the dish rotating OUT (because &#8220;it&#8221; happens) is a NEW fan fave:

I know, it&#8217;s a sucky thing to do.. so come get some (preferably those two together &#8216;cause they taste EXTRA NICE together!)

Not as &#8220;ballsy&#8221; as our buddies at Team @RedMedcineLA &#8216;s recent bad ass-ery (whether you/we all agree w/ it or not ^_^), but I can&#8217;t think of a better way to kick off the holiday break (L&#8217;haim to that my brothas &amp; sistahs!) than a beautifully photoshopped wedding picture of us and our&#8230; BAAAAAALLS!!! haha
(I mean, we gots to bring it back to us chockos.. and why argue about critics and other &#8220;industry&#8221; mumbo-jumbo all day long when you can laugh at us all day long too! ^_^)
Our friend/fan Danny P had some spare time, enjoyed our wedding pics and enjoyed our balls (the crispy tofu kind of course)&#8230; so this was a naturally logical progression if you think about it (if you&#8217;re very creative and/or high &#8220;as a kite!&#8221; maybe LOL) And as much as some of you&#8217;z wouldn&#8217;t believe it, this was ALL Danny&#8217;s idea. So &#8220;Bravo&#8230; BRAVO&#8221; Danny. You, as always, are the best-est (also because he walks our dog GQ for us from time to time&#8230; what a guy!! ^_^)

Back to other delicious business- like how you should enjoy and savor the MALAYSIAN COCONUT PINEAPPLE CHICKEN on a bed of Shallot Fried Rice &#8216;cause it&#8217;s REALLY F&#8217;ING GOOOOOOD that way! (conveniently pictured below ;D)

SOOOOOO today is our LAST meal(s) day of the week (11-3/Lunchie-Munchies &amp; 6-9.30p/Din-Dins), with also the RETURN of the belovedly (&lt;- that&#8217;s a legitimate version of the word stupid spell checker, I promise!) JUUUUICY:
SK KARA-GE (aka Japanese Popcorn Chicken) for Din-Dins ONLY&#8230; TONIGHT! (come and get it&#8230; pretty pretty PLEASE?!?!)

BUT just in case you were wondering about next week, we did change our mind about next week:
we will be OPEN Monday/12.27 (&amp; possibly Tuesday/12.28) for Lunchie-Munchies too!
Kinda wanna see if people will come out and play (and while you&#8217;re &#8220;playing&#8221; maybe you want to EAT at SK too! LOL) That and next week is going to be the beginning of a test, and not just ANY test:
BUT the test of our staff.. WITHOUT myself and/or the Kitchen Ninja!!
(these jokers below don&#8217;t work for us anymore, but as you can see as we misconstrue this pic.. it could be a lot more foolin&#8217; around while we&#8217;re gone&#8230; which means it won&#8217;t actually be too different than normal LOL ;p)

2011 is gonna be about kicking it into&#8230; OVEEEEERDRIVE (or at least one more gear above the gear were at right now OR kicking it down one gear and &#8220;revving up the RPMS&#8221; super-high depending on how geeky+technical+NERDY [like me] you are about these analogies&#8230; ^_^) because next year is about not only having MORE fun for us, but we will attempt the seemingly impossible.. EXPANSION (Finally!)
So there you have it, you heard it here&#8230; ummm.. LAST?!?! (it&#8217;s actually been published in a couple of places including Eater LA and an interview the KN did for Menuism) Sorry we didn&#8217;t acknowledge it before, it&#8217;s just too busy sometimes&#8230; thas all. We love all 3 (or is it 4 of you) that read this blog and thank you&#8217;z so much!
