#2-umm.. oh YEAH! Today is officially our TWO YEAR anniversary of being legit, w00t w00t!

Are we doing anything special today for it? Not YET (sorry y’all, we got caught up w/ the move from the original illegal+underground SK apt.. And we have a LOT of crap too!) But I just thought it was worth mentioning considering 3 years ago we had NO IDEA our fun lil food project could take us this far.. And holy CRAP are we lucky that at least some of you like our food enough to come back! Haha ;)

Thanks for everything everybody! Thanks for trying us out, spreading the word to your friends and/or enemies you know would be offended by my cursing antics, for tolerating our learning process, for going along w/ the rotating menu and for just being so supportive of us. Alrighty, SUPA DUPA late update happening today NOT because we’re monkeying around (which is likely in other cases) but because:

We JUST moved outta the formerly illegal+underground SK (that gave awards like this one above!) this weekend and our new (possibly illegal+underground) home doesn’t have internet yet “son.” DOH!
Because of the madness of us moving AND the increasing popularity of the BRAISED COCA COLA JACKFRUIT, we decided to hold the rotation for a week so NO CHANGE until next week!
It’s rainy and yucky which slowed us does too…
That’s enough, right?
Considering that it IS rainy and yucky, don’t forget this visual piece of advice when trying to avoid the rain (I apologize again if it does not make any sense considering it’s pretty crappily drawn LOL) :

I can’t think of a better way to say “Happy Valentines.. LOVER” than with PORK (more specifically the TAIWANESE FRIED PORK CHOP.. it’s almost a “sure thing”.. I mean, if you’re significant other/lover considers pork an aphrodisiac that is LOL)

And when you come in and order as a couple of lovers (and/or a couple of seemingly platonic friends… for NOW) we’ll give ya a FREE FOUNTAIN DRINK too.  

I was going to give you an ounce of bacon (because bacon says love “LOUDER” than anything else.. right?!?!) but the epiphany came too LATE (thanks FB fans for the idea, especially Katherine!) so that’ll have to wait for another crazy holiday. :)

ARGH! Very little time to blog, the rotation is back on, so much to do (being a “responsible” adult sometimes blows LOL) so time to jump into it!
TAIWANESE FRIED PORK CHOP is back (BAM!)

you can now add-on ‘a fried-egg’ for $1 mo’ to your order of the VIETNAMESE BEEF-TACULAR now that the exclusive fried-egg dineLA-deliciousness is done (bam BAM!)

since it is Monday (aka “salad day”) don’t forget we have this DELICIOUSO POACHED CHICKEN VIETNAMESE SALAD (Ka-BLOOOOW = an *explosion* of FLAVOR!)

…and oh yeah, LAST WEEK for the surprisingly popular (w/ not just Vegetarians or Vegans!) BRAISED COCA-COLA JACKFRUIT (*snappity snap snap*)

(DAMN.. I still say that jackfruit looks like meat/pulled pork, right?!?!?!)

Ya know what’s REALLY great w/ #NewWaveWeds …TAIWANESE FRIED PORK CHOPS!! (Yeah, we STILL have some more for today=the REAL last day. I’m starting to think my kitchen staff may love it more than THEY even know because THEY’RE the ones that made some more… WOW!)

And while you’re enjoying your TAIWANESE FRIED PORK CHOP, some Pineapple Fried Rice and THE CLASH… don’t forget while the NOM NOM PORK + CRISPY TOFU BALLS are still on the menu you can always request the bastard child of the two dishes that I literally created in my mind on the Angel’s Flight one day (for lil bit extra $$) : the CRISPY NOM NOM BALLS banh mi sammie (btw, it’s MIIIIIGHTY tasty too ^_^)

And on a different note, you should watch this. It’s FUUUUNNY!  If you’ve ever been to Austin (did I mention we’re from TX and we <3 Austin!!), chances are you have heard of or been to the Alamo Draft House movie theaters (thems our friends too y’all ^_^).  I guess they had to kick out an annoying texter in the middle of a movie (btw, texting in a movie is SUPER annoying y’all), they received a funny+hilarious+angry+long voicemail from that annoying texter and here’s the Alamo Draft House’s response with a lil Patton Oswalt and Jason Reitman thrown into the mix to help “deliver the message!” ENJOY!

Why yes we are “Bobby!” We’ve heard MANY a time that the biggest complaint is the line and/or wait time for our deliciousness.  After being barraged w/ that complaint for almost two years (TWO YEARS?!?!), “ach” we finally buckled, hunkered down (I just love that term for some reason ^_^) and figured out an answer. LOL  So we thought we’d do a simple “Grab-and-Go” concept (I gotta give it a cute SK name soon.. I dunno what though) to see if you guys are into that.  Simple idea:

  1. you order
  2. you pay (we hope) 
  3. and (for those of you on a shorter lunch) you’re out!  No waiting for your dish to be made ^_^

We are JUST starting to beta/pilot-test it, so we won’t be making too many yet but if you guys like it.. we’ll do some special dishes JUST for the “Grab-and-Go” crowd.

For this week’s “Grab-and-Go” we wanted to keep it simple = LEMONGRASS CHICKEN banh mi + Spicy Vietnamese Salad

Hello, it&#8217;s WILD CARD WEEK! (btw, no rotation this week so CRISPY TOFU BALLS are SAVED and stay another week too&#8230; WOO HOO!)

And before you skim down and figure out which dish(es) we&#8217;re bringing in today, FYI the Pineapple Fried Rice is back in da HOUSE!

(now back to the WILD CARD WEEK deliciousness! ;D)
I guess you could also consider WILD CARD WEEK a DAILY SPECIALS week (or something like that) if you wanna be technical and be one of those people that likes to call us out in trying to simplify our cuteness or attitude (what you gotta be like that?? LOL)  All-in-all we&#8217;re playin&#8217; around, having fun some oldies but goodies, and changing the dish every day or couple of days so you don&#8217;t have to wait 3 to 6 to 8 months for SOME dishes!  First up, the meaty fan fave: TAIWANESE FRIED PORK CHOP!
Have &#8216;em in a banh mi sammie&#8230;

Have &#8216;em in a Thai Cobb Salad&#8230; we dun care (btw, it is REALLY good in a salad ;D)

And there MIGHT also be a tiny stash of the SK KARA-GE (aka Japanese Popcorn Fried Chicken) too. I&#8217;m not including a picture assuming most will miss this lil bit of boring text! ;)
I&#8217;VE HEARD YOU&#8217;RE DOING GRAB-AND GO&#8217;S TEAM SK?!
Why yes we are &#8220;Bobby!&#8221; We&#8217;ve heard MANY a time that the biggest complaint is the line and/or wait time for our deliciousness.  After being barraged w/ that complaint for almost two years (TWO YEARS?!?!), &#8220;ach&#8221; we finally buckled, hunkered down (I just love that term for some reason ^_^) and figured out an answer. LOL  So we thought we&#8217;d do a simple &#8220;Grab-and-Go&#8221; concept (I gotta give it a cute SK name soon.. I dunno what though) to see if you guys are into that.  Simple idea:
you order
you pay (we hope) 
and (for those of you on a shorter lunch) you&#8217;re out!  No waiting for your dish to be made ^_^
We are JUST starting to beta/pilot-test it, so we won&#8217;t be making too many yet but if you guys like it.. we&#8217;ll do some special dishes JUST for the &#8220;Grab-and-Go&#8221; crowd.
For this week&#8217;s &#8220;Grab-and-Go&#8221; we wanted to keep it simple = LEMONGRASS CHICKEN banh mi + Spicy Vietnamese Salad

&#8230;and THAT&#8217;S it for today (that seems like a lot of info&#8230; oh well ^_^)
