Starry Kitchen

Believe it or NOT: that above is NOT meat. Guess what… BELIEVE IT! And believe this: that above is actually FRIGGIN’ GOOD too! That my friend(s), is the Jackfruit veggie version of our “thit kho” (want to jump into a time travel capsule re-cap of this oldie but goodie w/ tasty and tantalizing pics to lure you in to eat some of deez Pan-Asian taco tastiness… well click HERE foo’s!). All the same flavor, but with out the meaty… umm… MEAT! This is what we’re servin’ your arses as well as the THIT KHO this Wed nite (July 15) from 6-9p! Come try ‘em, compare ‘em, and revel in the flavor-lution that is… STARRY KITCHEN (or something like that)

And actually, forget the VEGGIE FRIENDS tag on this one. This one goes out to our JEWISH and Veggie friends ya’l! Hey, I think we can hold up a glass of manischewitz wine and say “L’haim” to that my Jewish brothers and sistah’s! L’HAIM!

Hey, is anyone wondering why out posts are shorter? Yeah, I’m wondering the same thing too. I was hoping you could give me the answer. :)

Things have been busy, but good busy (if there’s such a thing). So just be patient, and for the 2-3 people that enjoy reading this blog… we hope to give you more STARRY KITCHEN branded blog posts as well as the Pan-Asian Mexi-mix taco, burrito and banh mi sandwich goodness you’ve grown to love… or not?!?!

And since I’ve consistently added a different and hopefully funny video of the day… here’s another one from our friends Unco Same & Chin. Just watch it, laugh, cry, kick someone in the nutz for old times sake and enjoy:

BREAKING NEWS: Next week we are VEGETARIAN-friendly! WOO HOO

This image is just a tidbit, a morsel if you will, of additional info. If you can’t tell, they’re deep fried chunks of silky smooth tofu. It’s so silky smooth I wish I could make like pajamas outta this stuff… it ‘so nice! I love me some silky tofu!

This isn’t even why it’s veggie friendly, but rest assured that “rabbit food” ain’t the solution either. I promise- my old friend in college was a Vegan… so we knows a thing or two about veggie AND vegan friendly! And hey, we’re kinda no body right now so we at Starry Kitchen gotta shoot for the stars (“WHOOOOOSH”)

So, this next time out it’s going to be Japanese and Vegetarian.

In the mean time, don’t forget to become a Facebook Fan (‘Starry Kitchen’), follow us on Twitter (@starrykitchen) and check out our blog often. If you’re on tumblr, please follow us there too. And if you don’t know what tumblr is, check it out at tumblr.com. It’s a pretty sweet blog interface, very user-friendly and tumble-riffic!

And since I’m just playing with tumblr to understand it all, I’m going to play with this “Let people answer this” feature. And please do answer.

Our last post before we go out like the gansta’s we are tomorrow. Please read the previous post for info, and don’t forget we’re VEGGIE FRIENDLY too!

I wanted to post a nice picture of my lovely wife+chef, Thi Tran, but she preferred that I use her “alternate” version of herself. SO…

BEHOLD - this was a party favor from our wedding (HOORAY) back in Nov. ‘08 representing her, the bride. Ain’t she cute?

What does that have to do with us, our food and what we’re trying to do? WELL, the most important thing besides the food is the personality behind the cooking (and not just these “clever” little blog posts even though I do enjoy writing these).

So, for you, our 2 readers (one of them is me, there other is me refreshing to “double” my count ^_^), here’s a little glint into the personality and motivation of what we’re doing:

“WHY STARRY KITCHEN”

I promised it would be a short story, and it IS… it’s the name of Thi’s favorite Hong Kong based (TVB for all your Asian pop-culture nerds out there) cooking show. That’s it! She loves the show, and she loves the name… and THAT is why we’re STARRY KITCHEN. If we don’t love it, love the food and love what we’re doing… how can we expect you to love it as much as we do, right? ^_^

Some come one, come all and bring your friends. We hope our love for food is contagious and that you partake in the experience with us We’re moving full steam ahead and will start expanding our ideas and frequency of service soon while having fun doing it.

Life’s short- have fun and eat well. That’s not a bad motto to live by, is it??? ^_^
